Note that the "2:00 PM" timestamp on the Tweet is relative to my timezone (Eastern) which means they DIDN'T EVEN BOTHER TO TWEET THIS until 1 hour AFTER the Twitch stream would normally have started. I am fucking pissed if you couldn't tell. It would take them 5 seconds for them to make threads about these streams on uBSN, & to ask for questions in said threads.

Or 5 seconds to Tweet about it BEFORE what had been the regularly scheduled time.

So most important question now, post 1.07 is, why did they remove the pity timer from Expert packs? Do they realize how shitty it is to possibly spend a million credits and only get 1 UR? Do they not realize how shitty it is that when your common, uncommon, and rare manifests are maxed, you get nothing but consumables from most Premium packs? Why do they hate us so much?

If they removed the pity timer there's no way I'm buying Andromeda Points now. Patch 1.06 gave me a good vibe that things were headed in the right direction, so I felt more comfortable tipping BioWare for the support. If they ninja patched the pity counter that good vibe is gone, terminated with extreme prejudice. Good job, BioWare. Good job indeed.

They will NEVER say a peep about the store RNG. I can't decide if it would be amusing to ask knowing that they won't / can't talk about it, or be nice and leave it alone.

Don't even know if there is a stream today. Normally it would've been announced on Twitter by now, but the only thing they are talking about is that some guy died(*) who has nothing to do with MEA or Bioware. (*) Yes I know it was Chris Cornell and I'm sorry he's dead but again, THIS IS WHY YOU DON'T CROSS THE STREAMS. Who is/was Chris Cornell, the guy who played Catweazle? Are you fucking kidding me? Look him up on YouTube. Phenomenal singer whether it's hard rock or any of the various other genres he dabbled in. His stuff with Soundgarden and Audioslave was more grunge alternative rock. His solo stuff was a lot more diverse and idk if it could be described as any particular genre. There's a Cornell song for everyone basically. I just saw him in concert a week ago.

No need to piss them off since we're just now headed in a better direction. Idk that it would make them mad but it's a waste of time for better questions IMO. We know they're not going to respond.

Uh I think it's worth pushing them on it. Not necessarily the removal of the 10 pack pity timer, but that they need to publish the actual rates. We need to capitalize on the momentum from the Chinese law and let the publishers over here know that we're tired of this bullshit. So fuck em if it makes em uncomfortable. Ask the question.

Hell with it ask them if they think decreasing the drop rates at this point will make people play this fucking game more?

Ask them what they would like to tell the people who bought premium and expert packs with real money prior to the fix of the drop rates.
Ask if they will ever disclose their drop rates like a chinese law requires.

Ask them what they would like to tell the people who bought premium and expert packs with real money prior to the fix of the drop rates. Ask if they will ever disclose their drop rates like a chinese law requires. Bastiaan from Bioware noted on Reddit that they did not change the drop rates on Premium packs with this fix. link"Just wanted to give a small clarification. Premium packs always had the best drop rates, and still do, because they have not been changed at all. Check back tomorrow for the stream and its info! "
Based on my limited 12000 point (40 packs) spending spree last night, the Premium packs do seem to have a pity timer, as I got an UR every 10th box opened on the dot, regardless of if the previous nine boxes had URs in them or not. Other reports here on BSN seems to suggest that the Expert packs no longer do have a pity timer however. I note in the video that hopefully penguinfetish will upload to his channel if he finds it relevant, that for casual players I'm not sure it's a good change, since you need to play quite a bit to earn the one million credits in order to be garanteed an UR. (15 minutes per gold match on average, 19 matches for the cool million = 4,75 hours per UR, garanteed) . My sample gave me 10 URs for 40 boxes though, so YMMV. Obviously you can just throw money at the problem, and that is likely what they are aiming for - the Expert pack pity timer does seem more "fair" towards the average gamer though, even if the overall value from an andromeda points perspective was off (200 for expert packs, 300 for premium packs). Bioware could look to change the model a bit, as to make the Expert packs cost 150 points instead, and leave in the pity timer for Experts. That would be fair to everyone I think, as even if you spent no money on the microtransactions, you still have to put in a serious amount of playtime to reach a full manifest at this stage, so to me it has to be about making the loot grind pace good to keep the casuals playing.

I am sure that will address it proactively. Not the Chinese law; lawyers won't let them comment on that.
Actually I expect tomorrow to be a clusterfuck as far as getting questions answered.

Thanks for the link. Removing the pity timer for expert packs just feels really bad for average players and that's where i see myself. As if a safety net for progressing with the manifest has been removed and it is all luck and gambling now. I am aware that Bioware and EA aren't charity organisations and in the end they just want to make money. Yet I fail to grasp why people planning this item shops think it is a good idea to frustrate customers in order to get them to spent money. Every other place and branch that earns money with gambling tries to make sure their customers are at least having a good time. Hence it's odd that mobile gaming and gaming in general seems to be pulling more and more fraudulent schemes out of their asses. I am sure that will address it proactively. Not the Chinese law; lawyers won't let them comment on that. Actually I expect tomorrow to be a clusterfuck as far as getting questions answered. Please ask if they dont adress it proactively.

We are in complete agreement on that part. I don't see why the Expert pack pity timer was a bad thing. It is way better to know for certain that you are in the proximity of getting an UR within X amount of time, than to live with the uncertainty. Ten Gold matches is still two and a half hours worth of playtime on average, so it's not like people were maxing their manifests in no time - it was still a task that required some 450+ hours worth of playing. Obviously we can now just switch to Premium packs, but it takes longer to obtain them by design, so the user does not get that instant shot of dopamine after every match.

Changing a system so you need more effort and or time to reach the same goal just makes it more frustrating. When I learned about the pity timer and thought everything was working as intended I thought UR characters where you need 10 copies of where somehow ok. Now it's just back to wtf.
