By no means is this another ME:A bashing thread. Just a short video that might give a little insight as to why the game had the bugs it did at launch; and why some bugs are taking longer to fix.

Very minor issues and balances - patching is okay.
Anything above that is not acceptable especially on AAA titles. Consumers should never be ok with it. Many many titles from indie titles to AAA games are polished brilliantly.
The fact MEA was released in its state and is still facing issues two patches in. Is beyond disgusting for a AAA game from a well known studio.
But some are ok with this and this practice of patch it later crap will continue.😊

I don't care why MEA is bug infested. I don't care if it is Biowares fault, EA's fault or some third parties fault. All I care about, as a gamer is that it is in fact bug infested.
Funny how certain game companies rarely have these kinds of issues, like Rockstar and some, like EA, seem to have them all the time. For some companies it seems that the quality of their product is as important as profit, while at other companies, quality matters little as long as profits are good.
Please feel free to have an opinion on what companies fall into what category but do not give any of them a pass just because it is hard to do right.

I've always enjoyed EC vids - thanks for sharing it. I like that series also. In my view there are bugs and there are bugs. The animation wasn't a huge issue in my view. Not being able to complete quests is.

This was about money. They wanted it in last fiscal year. They pushed it back as far as they could where they could still get the pre-order and first week sales in the fiscal year they had it in the budget for. Obviously, patch 1.05 was already in the works when the game shipped. It probably just wasn't going to be ready in time.
One good thing is that it seems that EA learned from this and pushed back the release of the new IP.
Bugs are one thing, there will always be bugs, but when the game comes across unfinished, that's something completely different. The game was literally unenjoyable, and only somewhat playable the first week I had it. I hadn't seen anything that bad since Arkham City on PC, and that game got recalled.

When a game literally ships unfinished I'll gladly take several pages of patch notes featuring changes to cutscenes, writing etc. to make my 60$ more well spent over time. It's not ideal but that's what happens if you ship with fundamental bugs being "known shippables" This was about money. They wanted it in last fiscal year. They pushed it back as far as they could where they could still get the pre-order and first week sales in the fiscal year they had it in the budget for. Not to be that guy, but what they've just done with the new IP is the same thing they did with Andromeda when it originally said "Coming 2016" or something. This game had many delays. DA:I had a full year pushback too and it honestly needed more. New IP being pushed back so they can work on the online things just fills me with anxiety that the game is going to be another glorious mess. Both DA:I and MEA had implementation being worked on all the way up to release, not just polish of what they had already made. I don't see that changing at all. If they have no vertical slice demo available this E3 it means they'll be scramblign to get New IP out the door by 2018 just like they did with Andromeda. Then, the only differnece that matters is whether they actually make it or break it like they did with MEA.

I waited to buy the game after the release of patch 1.05, so I didn't encounter a lot of the bugs I've seen talked about. I guess the rule of thumb is to just wait a bit to buy the game after release, since patching seems to be the way of the future. Thanks for sharing the video. I enjoyed watching it
