One week ago due to many people complaining about XP boosters not working correctly, I did some tests with how the different XP bonuses stacked and posted my results here. The conclusion was that all the bonuses were additive. After 1.07 came out I have noticed that I would always get over 200k XP when playing against Kett and using a level 3 XP booster, which almost never happened before. I took screenshots of the end game screens and did the same calculations as with my previous tests on 1.06. I have divided the received XP with the sum of the player's total score and analysed the multiplier, which was the result. The XP gain formula in 1.07 is the following: Total XP = Base XP * (1 + booster bonus/100) * (1 + (APEX bonus + Difficulty bonus)/100)where Base XP is the sum of all player's score and Difficulty bonus is 0 for Bronze, 25 for Silver, 50 for Gold and 100 for Platinum. Here are the tests I've done, including my thought process. I did different factions because I suspected Kett might be bugged as they always gave over 200k, but that's not the case. My team just got more base score against Kett and the multiplicative bonus made the differences between factions even more noticeable.
Game 1: Kett Gold, level 3 booster Total XP gained: 216905 Sum of player's score: 82631 XP multiplier: 216905 / 82631 = 2,625
Game 2: Outlaw Gold, level 3 booster Total XP gained: 189106 Sum of player's score: 72041 XP multiplier: 189106 / 72041 = 2,625 (again)
2,625 couldn't be possible if the bonuses stacked additively. I know that Gold has a 50% bonus and the level 3 XP booster has a 75% bonus. We can get 2,625 by multiplying 1,5 with 1,75. Conclusion: the booster and difficulty bonuses stack multiplicatively.
After this I was curious how the APEX bonus would fit into the equation, so I quickly did the Gold APEX with pugs.
Game 3: Remnant APEX Gold (15% bonus from Weakened Assault Team), level 3 booster Total XP gained: 191504 Sum of player's score: 66322 XP multiplier: 191504 / 66322 = 2,8875
We have the following bonuses: 15% (APEX), 50% (Difficulty), 75% (booster) The only way we can get 2,8875 is the following: (1+0,15+0,5) (APEX and Difficulty additive) * 1,75 (booster) = 2,8875
I did the Silver APEX too just to be sure:
Game 4: Remnant APEX Silver (15% from Empty Resupply), level 3 booster Total XP gained: 164031 Sum of player's score: 66952 XP multiplier: 164031 / 66952 = 2,45
Bonuses we have: 15% (APEX), 25% (Difficulty), 75% (booster) We can only get 2,45 if the APEX and Difficulty bonuses are additive and the booster is multiplicative: (1+0,15+0,25) * 1,75 = 2,45 TL;DR: Difficulty XP bonus and APEX XP bonus are still additive, but XP boosters are now multiplicative! This makes XP boosters noticeably more effective on Gold than before. Tips for leveling up quickly:1. The most reliable way to level up is to play Gold against Kett with XP boosters, as 1.06 made them rather squishy while they retained their aggresive behaviour. Kett give noticeably more XP than the other factions on Gold difficulty. 2. 11 wave Gold missions are very rare, but they are a good source of XP. With a level 4 XP booster you will get about 700K experience per match. 3. If you have 3 friends that don't mind you playing a low level kit on Platinum, that is also a good way to level up. Just don't forget the XP boosters. Oh, and don't do this in public lobbies please. Thread updated on 19 Aug 2017 (patch 1.10)

If true, it's great news. But I have to ask... why? Why would they not publish this change, considering how often people complain that leveling takes too long? Were they not aware of this change yesterday during the stream? What the actual fuck.

Fucking patch notes biower, how they work? I had a similar experience with the stealth fix to shotgun smart chokes. I'd have continued to avoid using them thinking they didn't work if not for a stray comment made on these forums that I was lucky enough to see. Biower pls.

It just shows the dis junction between moderators and developers within the Bioware ranks; along with the lack of transparency and communication with the community. It's frustrating, and it just furthers the dissension that we (as consumers), have against Bioware.
