I'm not excited by professional porn. I mostly don't like it. When I was adolescent, of course most guys were fond of watching porn, but I was indifferent, if not disgusted sometimes. Once, one of my friends insisted, forcing me to watch the computer and the videos several times before my indifference, obvious on my face, and he finally asked me if I was asexual. I asked what was that, he basically told me, it was people who are not able to enjoy sex and can't feel sexual desires. I laughed, i thought it was a joke. But he was serious, such folks existed, I checked on internet, he was right. I laughed again because it was a funny thought, but once he was gone, I started to doubt, so I watched porn alone in my chamber. Still felt nothing and I started to freak out, wondering if I was really asexual, nothing happened in my pants. But nothing to worry about. I could be actually triggered with sex scenes in normal movies. But why more over there than with professional porn ? That seemed weird. I came to realize that porn was too vulgar, too impersonal, tasteless for me and it was the reason why I felt nothing. I'm much more triggered when there are feelings, context, passion, etc, to enjoy a good sex scene. I find most sex scenes in movies to be way more enjoyable than in porn. It's the artistry and imagery that can be evoke passion and emotion, and it's evident in a well made 'love scene' that relies more on suggestion than it actually does graphic content. Scenes that use slow motion, mood lighting and a musical sound over with nudity are so much better than straight out porn. I have the same oppinion on sex scenes in books. You can have that ones that use crude description that are kind of, meh, or you can have the ones like the kind in romance novels that are very passionate, very decriptive but also written in a classier style than some smut styles and I really enjoy those too. Porn is to sex, what the WWE is to wrestling. No amount of astroglide is going to make me enjoy the obviously fake moans/yelling and the performers clearly going through the motions(particularly the female ones).

I came to realize that porn was too vulgar, too impersonal, tasteless for me and it was the reason why I felt nothing. I'm much more triggered when there are feelings, context, passion, etc, to enjoy a good sex scene. Never seen pornography... ive never really seen the point in it personally. Part of me thinks that sex is kinda a private thing between people and should be kept that way I guess what youre saying makes sense because like... the people in the pornography are kinda never shown to have personality as such... theyre just well... sex objects I guess this isnt a complaint that porn is sexist because well I imagine it works on both sides with genders being objectified. For me pornography is a lot like a prostitute... you get sex but no passion and no love. The people are only doing it for the money. And pornography is in no way shape or form a true representative of real sex My first ever girlfriend was asexual and she explained it to me its actually a kind of weird subject because some asexual people DO get something out of watching pornography, and others have sex just to try it for curiosity or whatever. So yup its kinda weird. I think its less about gaining nothing from sex (because like I think its biological to find sex enjoyable) and more to do with the desire to have sex with someone yourself. Although that depends. Its also possible to be a romantic asexual where you want a relationship but not the sex (short version), an aromantic asexual (no desire to be in a relationship or have sex, but they can be in a relationship to try it out as with asexual people and sex), and its also possible to be an aromantic sexual person where you want sex but not a relationship (again short version). I kinda agree though. Id get more out of sex scenes in books and movies and fanfiction or whatever than pornography... Because the characters have substance and the romance is kinda built upon. When two characters get together theyre right for each other rather than meeting for the first time and sex happening (especially when it comes to stuff like anal sex I mean really youve just met this person and youre going in there??? Really??? ). That being said there are exceptions to the whole book thing Fifty Shades of Grey does nothing for me. I enjoy the books and the movie was ok I guess but I find them more funny than anything else. Its clear that EL James has no clue what shes talking about and some of the sentences are cringe worthy... like dude seriously I could do a better job than she did Some of my favorite lines that I remember: "I feel the colour in my cheeks rising again. I must be the colour of The Communist Manifesto.", "I eye Christian's toothbrush. It would be like having him in my mouth. Hmm..." They really are hilarious poorly written books but thats why I like reading them... I personally dont approve of the way uh things are shown but the comedy factor makes up for it That being said I dont think its fair that the books are so popular because for like lots of people itll be their first exposure to it and when its clearly more abusive than bdsm it doesnt set a good impression and especially when people try it based on what theyve read in the books... www.latimes.com/books/jacketcopy/la-et-jc-fire-department-50-shades-handcuff-help-calls-20130729-story.html... it leads to things like that. Sorry uh I went off track. I agree with you ... I could have just said that but eh

Yup, a fairly accurate description. If I'm gonna watch one it has to have a story to it, usually a comedy. I would rather watch the the make out scenes in movies like Wild Orchid or the scene Ryan Renolds did in Deadpoool. The Netflix show Sense8 has a couple of good ones and so does Spartacus.

I really had no interest in either the book or the movie, like Twilight, I think it was because of all the publicity it was getting. Being toted as the most risque book ever written had me going "Really? ... I doubt it." and then you hear professional dominatrixes calling it out and saying it's an irresponsible representation of that life style and I can see their point. I though sparkly vampires was a dumb idea and then 50 shades came out... I kinda got turned off the story from the get go.

Haha no id argue it isnt the most risqué book ever written some of the language it uses and the way the sentences are structured can be a little eh.. almost like a kid first learning what a metaphor is... if that makes sense. Especially when you hear Christians perspective it can be a little cringy... But yup I agree with them that it isnt responsible... because its so popular i guess it should have a better representation of it... For the people who try it based on what theyve seen in the book (which is in no way shape or form a good example... having that as your first exposure to bdsm would be like showing a teenager porn and saying 'this is how you have sex')... but also for how people view the lifestyle themselves... some people have trouble understanding the difference between that and abuse for example and the book wont help matters To be honest its just an easy-reading book with adult themes. It isnt complex or engaging really its just... as I said, easy reading. As I said i do like the books although I dont really agree with them but they TOTALLY dont deserve the amount of popularity they have ill say that i wouldnt really recommend anyone to read them especially if they dont have like knowledge about it anyway... they arent good books, but I like them
Huh this has made me question why i do actually like them... hm ok

I'm sure you all realize that 50 shades was based on fan fic that was plagiarized and was originally Harry Potter fanfic iirc, right? Right?
I don't read fanfic, but I've been on Goodreads for years, and it was quite a kerfuffle over there.

I haven't seen or read 50 Shades of Grey but all I've heard is that it's cheesy, poorly written, and inaccurate in its depictions of bdsm. Anyone seen both 50sog and Secretary? Is 50sog better or worse? I actually kinda enjoyed Secretary but it was a comedy and had James Spader, who is awesome! Also Maggie Gyllenhall, who is oddly attractive. Like I wouldn't call her traditionally pretty but there's still something about her... That wicked smile she has... Its complicated. I'm sure you all realize that 50 shades was based on fan fic that was plagiarized and was originally Harry Potter fanfic iirc, right? Right? Found so many good books via their recommendations over the years!

Yeah, I heard there was some kind of kurfuffle over it and it had something to do with fanfic or something, I honestly wasn't that interested in it to get all the details, just the publicity it was getting was enough for me to lose my interest. I remember when Scruples and Princess Daisy were the rage, there was also a book called Men in Love (which was basically a study on men's sexual fantasies: www.amazon.ca/Men-Love-Sexual-Fantasies-Triumph/dp/0385333420 ) not to mention Playboy/Playgirl has some very racey articles and I have read many historical romances in the past that would appearently put 50 Shades to shame in the risque department AND be better written. I honestly don't feel like I missed anything not jumping on the 50 Shades bandwagon.

I love dogs and consider a large, happy dog who wants to go for a walk necessary to a worthwhile life.
I don't currently have a dog (I haven't run into an opportunity to replace my walkiebuddy -- the malamute in my avatar who died at 14), but fortunately kind people in my life keep me supplied with dogs during this rough patch. So I occasionally take an Iditarod wheel-dog on my strolls, which is very nice.
And I have a large, happy cat who wants to go for walks, too. He heels and comes, but his endurance isn't great (because he's a cat).

And it was probably way better than the actual movie! I hated Twilight, (I had to watch it under protest), but I actually enjoyed Vampires Suck. It had a few good hahas to it.

Wow, 50 shades was that bad eh? I really had no interest in either the book or the movie, like Twilight, I think it was because of all the publicity it was getting. Being toted as the most risque book ever written had me going "Really? ... I doubt it." and then you hear professional dominatrixes calling it out and saying it's an irresponsible representation of that life style and I can see their point. I though sparkly vampires was a dumb idea and then 50 shades came out... I kinda got turned off the story from the get go. Same idea for me. I simply found the idea stupid, and had no interest in it. While everyone else around me was going on and on about it, I was reading/watching/enjoying something else. So when they tried to involve me in the conversation, I gave them a blank look and told them that I didn't read it. Now for 50 shades of grey, I have a similar viewpoint. Never read it, not sure I could care enough to want to read it. Though, as I understand it, its supposed to be written for women. So that might have something to do with it. I'm not its target audience.

I may or may not have started something on my Facebook about a former coworker. Last night I posted something about him being a douche and being a hack chef and crybaby and how the atmosphere at work has greatly improved without him, etc. Kid was unprofessional, took out his frustration on coworkers and thought he was the head chef and all just because he went to culinary school. Total snob. Anyways, I said something and then a former chef (who's all buddy buddy with him) started crying about what I had said, even went as far as calling me a "Facebook tough guy" blah blah blah. I told him that he didn't know everything that happened after he left. Best part is this: as we are arguing on FB, I get a text from the douche because the former chef had obviously told him what I had said. His message said, "You got something to say to me pussy?" I laughed my ass off. Then he sent another message "You had an awful lot to say on FB but nothing to me or my face?" Pure gold. I called him Fatatouille because he's fat and looks like a rat. The point I made in the argument was that old Fatatouille was difficult to work with because of his shitty attitude. NO ONE liked working with him. I've lost count of how many times I've had to address/complain about him to my actual boss and that was just me. Every other staff member complained about him at one point and my boss was certainly getting tired of hearing it. He wanted to fire him for months but for whatever reason just didn't happen. I'm have a good sunday morning.

I find that doing anything on facebook just puts a bullseye on your back. I really don't understand why some people love it so much.

I'm have a good sunday morning. I find that doing anything on facebook just puts a bullseye on your back. I really don't understand why some people love it so much. Truth is I didn't even expect any reaction from it. Considering I've got the guy blocked ( 2 accounts because apparently 1 wasn't enough) so he shouldn't have seen it. How it blew up was someone asked me about what I was talking about and gave them a brief summary of the situation and that's when the other dude jumped in (again, wasn't expected due to the fact it had nothing to do with him) I really don't care though if people get mad at me though. I was also sleep deprived and had a couple drinks in me so my judgment was not the best.

I have a strange affection for artifacts from the late 19th century and very early 20th century (~1850-1920). If I had the cash I'd start a huge collection of all sorts of random things from that time period. Knives, bayonets, hand tools, watches - you name it. Back in that time craftsmanship was at its peak and all the things from that area were made with so much love for detail and quality - even the very simple things. Beautiful.

Good to meet a fellow Steam Punk! I haven't been as active as I'd like in the Steam Punk Community at large. Sadly this is due to lack of time, and lack of local events. Even still, nice to meet another Steamy individual.

When you mention that era, I think my favorite artifacts would be the globes and maps.

I use to watch ghost hunting shows when I was a kid.
