Canadian Delicacy - The Kaidan Alenko Thread

To be fair, I did say Kaidan is probably the best romance in the series overall. This is because he can be romanced by either gender. I have just never done male Shepard/Kaidan because I'm not into gay romances. This includes for femshep also. 

I suppose I was "lucky" in a sense because in my first PT there was no same sex romance mod and I didn't yet know about the gender swap. So I wasn't as offended by his rebuff. Also, I knew that Ash reacted the same, so it was more of a "Virmire Survivor" thing than a Kaidan thing. Besides, them getting together in ME3, whether resuming romance or new, made it all worthwhile.

My current Shep got depressed over Horizon and blamed himself rather than Kaidan. Tbh, if I took a deeper look, I know for a fact that Shepard could have found a way to get a message to Kaidan, even if not through official channels. I mean, if I were in the military and had an Army email address, I could easily still have a gmail account. Just sayin'.

Oh, and I love Kaidan. Huge fan all around. I just think mistakes were made all over - Kaidan, Shepard, Anderson and Hackett. Hell, Hackett was still giving Shepard missions so he still trusted the Commander. It wouldn't have been hard to tell Kaidan that he needed to stay away because Cerberus couldn't be trusted but that Shepard wasn't a traitor. Hell, even if that happened after Horizon - like in the 6 months where Shepard was in Vancouver - it would have made more sense than the silence.

Had to uninstall MEIUTM since it made the entire game unstable for some reason.

I think I found the HD texture which is on Bioware project site. Although I'm not sure if its the contrast since his hair should have grey at the sides..

One thing I will always hate about Kaidan that I failed to mention before...

Why does he hit on me in ME3? In the hospital if you bring him a drink he thinks I'm flirting with him? If you don't then he doesn't. But I accidentally asked him the same question about his biotics again and he hit on me because I asked the question a second time. What makes it weird is my Mass Effect bae will usually be Jack or Tali. Why does he still hit on me? I really dislike this personally.

It makes more sense with the female Shepard than the male Shepard.

Oh alright thanks. Its still kind of lame that you can't be nice to Kaidan without him thinking you want him or something. I had no idea being paragon with him on Mars lead to that. I always pick the Paragon option as broshep with Kaidan.

I am also kind of glad they kept Ashley heterosexual throughout the series also.

Well, welcome to the club of ninjamancing, at least you can avoid that by not giving him the whiskey. Jack, Tali, Ashley, Liara, Peebee all of them want my gay ass Shepard/Ryder and while I dont hate it it's quite annoying how ME team thinks that the male character is straight by default

Or be required to get into the pod with her when she is blatantly flirting with Ryder. Like, hello, that's about as blatant about 'I want to have sex with you' as can be without her actively removing clothes.

It doesn't if you've romanced a female already. If you've had a relationship with a female as broshep why would he assume I'm flirting with him? I'm willing to bet you can have a fling with Jack and have romanced Liara or Miranda and he'd still ask if you were flirting with him. There is no indication Kaidan was interested in male Shepard in ME1. Yes, I know its because he's gender locked with the female. At least for the female Shepard, he kind of drops hints that he's interested in her from the start. So even if you don't pursue a romance with him, it seems more in line for him to try to flirt with her again in ME3 because he was already interested. I just felt it came out of nowhere on my playthrough and I didn't like the line.

And also you meet Tali super late in ME3. If you have the dinner scene before you lock in the Tali romance he still asks you out. First time doing Tali's romance, I had no idea about this. It kind of just came out of nowhere and had me going wtf? Also wasn't a fan of that.
