Thank you Joker, for asking about Kaidan's hair! I spent many an hour looking at it and wondering whether it's curly or just poofy.
I wish I could appreciate Kaidan's bare chest but I am too distracted by the lack of chest hair he used to have in ME1.
"Kaidan...psst, Kaidan, I know you probably can't hear me, but I want to let you know...the doctor waxed your chest."

Lol, why did they have to give him the "Dad" moves! This seriously reminds me of my dad trying to look cool after having a bit too much to drink.

Lol! I love the dance! It is the dance he does at the Citadel party. The first time I played through that and saw him doing that I laughed at him so hard and for so long. Silly guy.

He is. And he also seems to create quite the stir on Horizon apparently

I admit that the very first time I played through Horizon I was really mad.  And I was mad at Kaidan. 

But after I got his letter I softened a bit.  I was already mad that I was being forced to work with Cerberus because the Alliance/Council were apparently sitting around with their heads up their butts.

I had played through all the side stuff in ME and I had seen what Cerberus was up to.  I hated them.  I didn't trust the Illusive Man.  I hated being without my crew.

So after I had time to think about it, I saw that Kaidan was hurt.  He didn't trust Cerberus.  He couldn't believe I was working with them.  Did he even believe that it was really me?

After playing through a few more times and talking to him on Horizon I realized the conversation is just kinda lame.  I have no option whatsoever to tell what I'm really trying to accomplish.  He gets to be mad and I get to stammer. 

So yeah, I believe it was you in the other thread that said they blamed the writing of the scene.  I do too.  I know it was written that way to evoke emotions/drama.  And I guess it did succeed in that.  But it also puts Ashley/Kaidan in a situation where they are looked upon poorly by others after that exchange.

I forgave Kaidan.  Others couldn't get past it.  I feel like if the conversation had allowed for more exchange between Shepard and Kaidan so that he (or Ashely) didn't come across as so harsh it would have turned out better feelings wise.

Now I feel like I'm starting to ramble and it's late so I'll be back to chat tomorrow hopefully! 

Edit: As to your edit - SAME! lol  I really mostly like all the companions so I don't like to get into the this one is better than that one discussions either.

I’d say I was in a similar place my first time with ME2. I didn’t feel too keen on Kaidan in that moment either and was frustrated with the whole thing. I felt I couldn’t express much of anything because the speech options were poor and that I was being railed by the game. I even played through that scene multiple times to see what the different lines were. His anger just didn’t quite feel justified to me and I agreed with what he was saying -- I did all of those side missions, too. (Akuze, damnit!) I didn’t want to work with Cerberus, I still missed my old crew and hated that, surprise, the “authorities” weren’t helpful. In the other thread I did say I blame it on writing and some others did too. It certainly seems devs wanted to hammer a wedge between Shep and the VS, and were successful. I don’t know if it’s just because it’s more in my nature to understand/accept/empathize or what, but forgiving Kaidan wasn’t too difficult for me.

I did have a brief thought of “Well, maybe I should have flirted with Jacob.”  But after reading his message I was… aw. Kaidan. I get it. It still sucks, but I get it. I agree that if Shep and VS had been given a better scene things could've been different. The conflict could still be there but maybe in more of an objective way and not so personal. More of that "grey" area. I'm sure that still could've been built up into the Coup stuff for 3 if they were so determined.

Like opuspace  mentioned in the other thread, Kaidan’s thoughts and feelings are further explained in 3 on Mars, when he says he’s not even sure “what” Shepard is. (Which I have to admit did hurt a little.) After watching Shepard die why would he think the person he sees on Horizon is the real, pure Shepard? Especially given Cerberus’ history and that (unbeknownst to Kaidan) Miranda mentions a control chip -- Shepard very well could have been a puppet of their former self. Alas, Kaidan doesn’t (or wasn’t written/allowed to) say any of this in that moment so Horizon boils down to what feels like a half-baked and one-sided argument that many took to heart. --The odd thing, though, is that when reviewing Shep’s… reconstruction at Cronos Station Kaidan mentions not knowing or thinking it had really been that bad. Even so, he does say that the current Shepard is real enough for him, so…

Haha, yeah. I actually like all the squadmates too, even if I have some favorites. I even debated as to whether I should post in that thread because of Garrus fame, but as a Kaidan fan I felt I had say something and maybe offer another perspective. Kaidan is very swiftly written off and that makes me sad. Then it went all tangent and here I am again.  As apparent by my avatar I also like Anders which is no picnic.   I tend to keep it in his fan threads, though.

I wouldn't entirely agree with that.. I think Wrex and Jack are probably among the most independently minded. But yeah, I've always thought Kaidan would be a solid romance.
