Gray hair on a mid 30's person is not unheard of, that's more genetics than anything else. I'm 35 and already have gray hair here and there. My mom was already halfway gray by this age. That's what I thought, too. I'm 47 and only have a pinch of gray at my temples. In any case, I read it that Kaidan was extraordinary in being able to reave. Of course, it comes easily to the Ryder Twins...

So if he somehow realized that he has the ability to learn this trait, but would have to work his ass off to do it, he totally would do it.

I got my first grey hairs when I was twenty-five. Considering the stress of Kaidan's life, gray hair at thirty-five doesn't need a special explanation.

I'm closing to 30 this year... I have occasional white hair or two from stress but in my family we don't start greying until after 50s. But we Asians age weirdly...

I'm 50 and just started seeing some gray on top. Much longer than it took my dad to be gray (around 35), but not as long as it took my mom (at 61 when she passed she had just started to gray). So, I guess I'm kind of in the middle. Kaidans gray is sexy though I agree with Chiantirose: Kaidan seems the type to put in the extra work to learn a new biotic move or two

Fact is, without Kaidan I almost certainly never would have played Mass Effect. Heard about the romance early in 2016, suffered through 1&2 just so I could have him in 3. That was all before mods. (Well, gender swap existed, and I used it a couple times, but really I hated it. Probably why I've played ME3 the most of any ME games. Oh, and I used the Gibbed Save Game Editor to edit the romance into existence for ME2 so Kaidan appeared at the beginning and gave that hug on Horizon.) Unfortunately, I fell so hard for Kaidan that I was never able to romance Steve Cortez. I've heard it's sweet but...he's just not Kaidan.

First time playing ME, I was sadly one of those people that thought Kaidan was boring, but to my defense that was mostly because I didn't talk to him. I don't think I really talked to anyone and just played through the main path and surprise, surprise, was not impressed. Now, Kaidan is the only reason I play ME, I tried to do a Garrus run and I have a Shep that romanced him in ME2, but she doesn't get off the Citadel. I just can't do it. Andromeda was totally different. Even though I really liked Liam, I was able to do Jaal and Suvi romance. Can't do that in MET, it just doesn't feel right. SHENKO FOR LIFE!!!

I was with the series from the beginning when my brother decided to see what the big deal was. I liked Kaidan immediately, but I resigned myself to keeping things to headcanon like I usually did; Kaidan at least made things easier than normal. So it ended up meaning much more to me when he turned out to be bisexual. In fact, Kaidan is the very first male character that I truly become invested in that was revealed to be same-sex attracted.

To me ME was just aTPS & I'm not a fan of TPS. But when i learned that in this game you could have a gay romance, i was curious. Never played a game with a romance (gay or straight). So i tried the game because of Kaidan. I felt in love with the game & so i tried the other 2. I've played the trilogy 8 time so far!

I got mass effect 2 after coming off a Dragon Age Origins Ultimate edition and Drgaon age 2 marathon. (i was late getting into BioWare games). I got 2 since it was the only one on ps3 at the time, and I heard 3 was going to have gay romance options like Dragon age-it came out like 2 weeks from that time I believe-so I played 2 and enjoyed it enough that I went ahead and preordered 3. I don't regret it by any means! But that ending of 3 still haunts me!

Hi! Long time no post lol but the first time i played was with mass effect 2 was from a humble bundle package and i was more focused on da2 at that time and i usually dislike tps games (cuz i suck soo much at shooting lmao) but i caved in anyway since i wanted to see what the hype was all about and the garrus romance... halfway through i was sort of bored with the garrus romance then horizon came and well idk what clicked but that scene filled me with emotions and well lets just say i got the whole trilogy after that... no regrets lol

I'm not gonna lie. I was into garrus romance when I first saw a playthrough of mass effect trilogy, but then I got bored as well. I started to see romances with Kaidan and I was hooked since. Such a hottie and a romantic biotic.

Kaidan is my favourite character in all the Mass Effect Trilogy. I fell in love with him since the first sight. I love his temperance and courage. I think he is one of the best warriors in the game. One of the things I always liked about him is the sweetness in his eyes and in his words, most if the time. His sensitivity doesn't take anything off his strenght. All things that make him so real and not only "a human soldier". I have played the trilogy a good bunch of times and I tried a lot of romances. But the Major Alenko is the best, in my opinion. And then, most of all, I love him in love with m!shepard. They are so warm. I'm very happy to find a place where talkin' about him, finally!

Kaidan was obviously written as the strong, silent type. So, it's meant to imply that rather than wasting time talking about things, he goes out and does things. That's generally a compliment. People often see being quiet as a negative but talking too much is damn annoying. It's like a person is so uncomfortable with their own thoughts that they have to fill it with meaningless chatter. (This is a generalization.)
Also, his reaction to Shepard being with Cerberus in ME2 makes sense (or as much sense as anything can make given that Shepard wasn't allowed to explain anything). He's sensitive, yes, but also has high standards. That means he'll reject someone who falls short of that standard (particularly in a big way by joining the "enemy") and won't fully accept that person until he sees that they do live up to that standard (either again or when proven to have assessed incorrectly). Side note: This work somewhat for Ash, as well. Though many call her racist, and she's got some issues, she also makes it clear she would never be part of a pro-human group like Terra Firma. We all know that Cerberus is even worse so she would, quite naturally, reject Shepard until learning the truth. Again, the game prevents Shepard from explaining anything, and also doesn't allow Shepard to respond to the email A/K sends, meaning that A/K are left with the assumption that Shepard really is a traitor. I'll just call this bad writing and not use it as a case against them.

I know this is neither here nor there, but I am kind of shocked at some of the ages of the people here. I always expect myself to be the oldest person because I am early thirties. But its pretty cool seeing people of all different ages get into this series and its characters. But I have a few grey hairs, which looks weird because I have a relatively young face.
But yeah, on topic, Kaidan is a cool guy who doesn't afraid of anything. It just makes me a little salty Ash didn't get the same level of attention in ME3 that Kaidan got. That or someone like Kasumi doesn't even matter in the overall arc of things. I think they played favorites with Kaidan, which is odd because it seems like Ash was pushed more in the promos (like the cover of ME1, trailer of ME3).

I think Kaidan getting more attention/content then Ashley makes a lot of sense if you consider what an important role he has to play as the only male romance option that appeared in the first game and one of only 2 male romances in the third game for either gender. He's like a corner piece, whereas Ashley is one of many female romances that Straight male Shepard has...it's pretty uneven just how many options there are for straight males compared to everyone else.

That's a good point and I never thought of it like that. Its still really stupid that they didn't make him bisexual like they initially intended in ME1. I am still unclear why they did that. And if its any consolation, as a straight male, I think most of the straight romances for broshep are actually not even all that great. I'm not a fan of many of them fangirling over broshep. Ash, maybe Jack, and my Kasumi head canon are the only good ones. Kaidan in general is the best overall for males and females as he is the most believable and well written.

I would like to have the mShepard/Kaidan romance since the first game. They are my canon (about a male Shepard) so I would really enjoy a bisexual Alenko in ME1. But after a lot of playgrounds and exploring romances, after a fShepard/Kaidan trilogy played, too, maybe I like more this romance starting in ME3. I love thinking about a strong relationship between them growing slowly. Maybe Horizon and eventual others romances in ME2 would ruin their love story, or put too much weight on it. It's a situation easier to solve by friends then by lovers? Maybe yes. And when the romance is available, in ME3, Kaidan and Shepard seem "ready" to do another step in their relationship and it grows strong. I find it romantic, sweet, true and full of feels. I liked play Kaidan's romance with fShepard, but in ME1 it seems a little too "fast". I really love the mShepard/Kaidan path. I don't know. Maybe I'd play both of choices.

If you play on a PC, head over to Nexus Mods and find the same sex romance mods that allows the romance to begin in ME1, continue (in a way) in ME2 and then be rekindled in ME3.

I was gonna test the same sex romance mod out but its incompatible with BackOff which I really wanna try out. I'm on my new first build pc that I built which I'm am very proud of. I had a few help from my friends in discord but I did most of the work. Right now I'm having issues with installing Origin right now which sucks. I was trying to install Origin on my ssd which is my OS and then Origin Games on my sshd which is where I install my games. Origin is a B to work with unlike Steam. I will have to reinstall it later. I do however wanna play ME Trilogy so bad. I love that game so much. I also have MEA as well so yea. I just need to buy a few dlcs for the trilogy series.

It's so beautiful & mshep is not called ma'm anymore while romancing Kaidan so good ^^ I'm doing this twin Shepards thing right now in ME1. It requires a lot of gender swapping with console commands to make it work. Technically, "FemShep" is romancing Kaidan but it's all part of a larger plan that will allow for a "resumed romance" with BroShep in ME3. Requires a lot of role play on my part, which gets detailed in different ways both here and on Free-for-All (here it's like a diary, there it's letters to one another). Kind of fun. Don't know if I'd ever do this again but the ideas in my head for how this will all pan our are kind of exciting.
