Canadian Delicacy - The Kaidan Alenko Thread

I just scanned the old BSN forums that is archived on Fextralife. Kaidan's ME3 thread (JUST ME3) was 6,745 pages long with the last post being August 25, 2016, which is probably when the boards went down. We've got some work to do here! Not a fan of M!Shenko but I liked BroShep's friendship with Kaidan in scenes like this:

They did such a good job with his strut, he is so freaking sexy!  :hearteyes:

The only thing that bugged me was that it took the final DLC to see Kaidan use his biotics in a cutscene, but he's hardly the only biotic in the series to forget about his powers to make things more convenient.

Mainly because Kaidan got stung before he thought to use his biotics. One of those unfortunate sacrifices to keep his story from deviating from Ashley's.

That is the one thing I always wondered. How do Kaidan and Ash get away from being stung by the seeker swarm? I mean they both happen to be in the vicinity of where the Collectors landed to take away Lilith right? So its not like Shepard's intervention stopped them.

I can sort of buy that Kaidan can get out because of his biotics. But what about Ash? She's just a soldier?

Lilith runs away with a group of people. I just assumed that Shepard interrupted the Collectors before they reached the area Kaidan/Ashley were in.

Most people just let him die in ME1 and don't bother to learn about his character; even if the context of his story differed greatly from Ashley, especially in ME3 which started with Kaidan's home being destroyed by the Reapers and him abandoning his family to save Shepard... Ashley never have that.

Also people miss the fact that there's no specialized biotic division without Kaidan. He did ended up being the most experienced powerful biotic commander in Alliance military without an N7 rank (which felt more black ops one-man-army type which Kaidan isn't) and without Asari Commando training (cough).

I didn't mind that Kaidan's awesomeness isn't being shoved to my face.. just subtly noted and part of his characterization since Kaidan doesn't brag.

Really? I always took this as the group acting like Kaidan was behind the times in terms of his biotic powers. After James says Kaidan has flawed implants both Jacob and Liara seem weirded out. And doesn't Liara say "that is a bit strange." But then again, the way you are thinking could make a lot of sense as well. Because I always scoffed at them making fun of Kaidan (or what I thought was them making fun of him). Kaidan is best squadmate next to Wrex. I would definitely choose him over James, Jacob, and especially Liara. 

But even then, the Horizon thing still irks me. Like I said, Kaidan was near where Lilith and the rest of the group were. The people not taken weren't near that location if I'm not mistaken. 

Because the only ones who does Reave are centuries old Asari Matriarchs like Samara and Aria T'Loak. (I don't think Citadel DLC's Miranda count though) and Kaidan is the first generation of human biotics.

I think neural degradation from biotics is common knowledge. Kaidan have greying hair already.
