My favourite class in many RPG's have always been infiltrators/sneak characters, mostly they would be weak in full frontal assault, but once you've figured out the mechanics they can be very over powered, that last bit is not a complaint, I like it that way, one of the things I'm enjoying in this game is watching enemies fight each other, I keep my character just out of range and watch as they annihilate each other, only going in for attack when I get bored, it's nice to have a coffee and smoke while the idiots kill each other, this tends to be my style of play the majority of the time, my question is to you all, what is your preferred class, and technique for combat?

I love diving headfirst into battles, but I see the appeal. I've stood there and pretended that the squad was taking bets on who would win. In FO4, I basically roll a sneaky Sole Survivor that scopes out enemies and watches them kill each other. I once lured a deathclaw into a group of raiders that had a couple of assaultrons. Life in the wasteland doesn't really get better.
Come to think of it, I wish Drack and Vetra literally made bets when enemies were fighting each other. Another opportunity missed, Biower.

Let the storm commence! How DARE you enjoy this piece of trash of a game, I can't believe anyone would like playing as an Infiltrator in Andromeda, they were much better in ME3. Does anyone remember the glorious Infiltrator from ME1!?!? Man, those were the days *sips Ryncol* I'm just kidding, please don't kill me

Stealth characters overall is the only approach I have neither figured out, nor enjoyed in video-games. Both the melee stealth, and the sniper rifles are just too high skill approaches for a low skill videogamer like me. My aim is crap, and I don't think fast enough on my feet for an agile melee stealth.
I love melee, but I am also terrible at it, when it actually requires not over-extending, staying on target with a limited range and facing requirements, fancy footwork skills and skillful blocking of an attack that you need to be aware enough to predict. But Vanguards in Andromeda are total gamegasm, so I am happy playing them, charging all over the place and doing the uncomplicated F-for-meleeeeeee, because I keep away from hard battles, like Architects and stuff.
Just like every other noob out there, run-and-gun, healing and DoT spread is what masks a lot of errors in playstyle and easier on the spatial awareness, so I love my Adepts. Duh.
I like summoner classes in theory, but I have never actually played an Engineer well in ME, either MP or SP. I think they are actually harder than in other games. But I will try it seriously one day. I keep, like, wanting it, then fall back to a VG, Sentinel and Adept...

My main char was Renegade-Neutral FemShepard, Adept Biotic, however played them like a Vanguard... ME3 full throttle CQC, Graal Spike Thrower as my only weapon. Badass turned right up to 11.

I prefer to play tanks. Or a support/DPS like a Red Mage or Druid.
Wait, is this the wrong type of game?

The way I learned stealth and infiltrate is to be patient, I'm rarely in a hurry to finish a fight, lots of shields just in case, and in this game, remnant vi and turret, my remnant vi can teleport through doors, so I let it whittle away at the enemies health while remaining safely behind the door.

Are we talking in regards to the endless debates on this forum?... If so I tend to alternate, sometimes I take the infiltrator approach, but sometimes you just gotta vanguard! Why do people constantly debate!? Oh no, I'm on a forum and people won't stop debating, why won't they ever stop!? :rage:

I am not good enough for some reason to use sniper rifles in a game like Andromeda. I always find the enemy is able to dodge away from my attacks as I pull the trigger, now if I am playing an infiltrator style character I will go for a shotgun like the N7 Crusader. In ME3 I had that at rank 10 in MP and could snipe fairly well with it when needed, but didn't feel like I had a bad chain of misses that way.

I love to play the sneaky/stealthy sniper. Infiltrator it is. I'm using the Black Widow with Vintage Heat Sink, with the correct skills I have 3 shots, and never have to worry about ammo boxes. Aim, cloak, fire my three shots, Incinerate, Overload. Rinse and repeat. Being able to sit back and enjoy the sh*tstorm is one of the perks of that build. I ususally play snipers. All my Fallout characters (from FO3 onwards) are snipers, and the most fun I had in the original ME trilogy was as an Infiltrator Shep. I have to actually force myself to try other builds. My Scott is a Vanguard. It's... difficult.

My Scott is a Vanguard. It's... difficult. Is it possible to get the Black Widow to have more than one shot before it needs to cool down with the VHS? I've tried and found myself just sticking to ordinary ammo management for it. Otherwise, the regular Widow or Isharay end up being a superior camping weapon since they do more damage per shot.

Yes, there are (IIRC) two perks/skills that increase the clip size. I have to check in-game which ones. Edit: Rank 5 Sniper Rifles and Combat Fitness can increase clip size. You will miss out on another weapon slot, but I use only two weapons anyway. Although I don't even need the second one.

I'd watch for a few seconds, but i'm not sure if they are just fighting each other and not taking damage or what.( I don't see anybody dying) but I don't play as scary infiltrators...*pushes the infiltrator out of the way*....i'm doing a vanguard charge right in the thick of it and cleaning up the mess.....

I love to play as infiltrator. I've used that class since ME1 and I'm still using it in MEA. I've tried few other classes along the way but they've been too boring for me. Even though MEA offers the use of different profiles, I haven't used them at all, the infi being enough for me.

I like the Black Widow with the bio converter rather than the vintage heat sink.
You get 4 shots and can reload when you have 1 left to avoid taking the health penalty.
When in a tight spot though you get almost auto reload and tons of shots when you are in a tight spot.
It still pays to have lots of health with the bio converter so I use the hyperguardian armor alot.

I prefer body slamming enemies and punching them in the face... Or picking them up and throwing them at other enemies... Or picking up explosive canisters and throwing them at enemies... In short, any variety of biotic.
