In Vetra's bio and her conversations in the Nomad with Cora, it's hinted that she possibly had something to do with getting the SR2 plans from a base on Menae. Kallo also suggests the tech they used in the Tempest wasn't necessarily acquired legally.
The arks left in 2185 so it's not out of the question models of the SR2 were available by that point (there is one in Shepard's cabin, after all, as soon you have access). It's also possible Liara sent one to Alec.

Am I the only one who thought his apartment was a waste of space when everyone else was crammed for residential space (especially as other arks are found)? I know that's cold, but... Seriously. You can listen in to a conversation Tann is having with Addison (I think) about squeezing in the asari from the ark after it's gound, and I just want to tell him that they can squeeze a few asari into my room, since I'm never there

I wouldn't want no damn space hobos living in my father's swanky space loft. I don't care if they have to sleep in Jefferies tubes.

And I'm guessing the Ryder twin will live there in the epilogue (after they kind of vanish ). Still, no one else had space at the time.

We've no idea what sort of space the rest of the crew (as opposed to the colonists, who were never going to be living on the Hyperion) had. I'm assuming that there's an awful lot of the Hyperion that we never see; IIRC we several individual quarters on the asari Ark, and the designs are supposedly similar.

The Tempest looks like the Normandy turned upside down. It does seem big for the function it serves in the game, but doesn't bother me. Considering how small the tempest is, Ryders room is pretty big. You can't take room away from Ryder though, it's his/her "safe space" where they go to cry it out when things doesn't go their way.

This is an easter egg and a callback to earlier games. Don't read too much into that it's there. Just like how there were a statue of a DA ogre in ME2, or krogan heads mounted on the walls in DA:I.

Same. Shepard's quarters in the SR1 was a bit more practical. Also, there was nothing to do in there from what I can remember.

Anyone ever consider Jack Harper clone himself and sent that clone to Andromeda? There's no way in hell he wouldn't not know about the initiative. I still think he is behind it I'm certain he knew, but I imagine that he'd prefer to leave the Initiative as a long-term investment for humanity while taking his chances to deal with the reaper scourge. Had he been successful in controlling the reapers, humanity would basically be the lords of the universe. I feel like he is the kind of man that would love to send his clone to andromeda. I doubt he would trust anyone more than himself and especially to help settle a new galaxy where humans have a good chance to dominate especially with a human figurehead leading it up. The idea that he would not make a clone of himself to me seems far more implausible. I just see him as hedging his bets and having a backup with his clone. Actually I see him as hedging his bets and having a backup with his clone if someone at cerberus created memory transfer where he could make it 'him' entirely. But I still think he would do it anyway, memory transfer or not.

I did like how Shepard could bring people to their quarters in the SR2 in ME3 for those chats. IIRC, only Suvi chilled in Ryder's pad with her tea in MEA. (Edit: how could I forget about Movie Night? Duh). I also miss the cuddling in ME2. Ryder could use some cuddles.

They're talking about the ME1 cabin, which really offered nothing of use. With ME2 and 3 you had some interactive features, useless as they were. Such as flushing the loo or the shower. You also had a useful feature of changing armor or outfits in there.

Yeah, I don't think I ever actually went into that cabin in ME1 on my own except to interact with Anderson once to see what he says.

The crew actually moved around in ME3 to hang out with each other. Playing a game of cards, Garrus sitting with Javvik and Liara in the lounge telling war stories, Garrus and James having their staring contest, passed out Ashley or drunken Tali. Something like a beginning romance between Garrus and Tali. There's nothing on the Tempest coming even close to that kind of immersiveness. They just move around a bit, shouting at each other over the intercom. Which you don't even understand when SAM decides on blurting one of his mostly useless messages at the same time the conversation happens.

I'd get anxious about pulling up the mining menu or moving in and out of hazard zones while exploring, thanks to SAM interrupting banter. What a pain. I do appreciate SAM informing Ryder that it's cooler in the shade on Elaaden, though.

SAM hasn't been interrupting me since the update, so at least there's that. But yeah I loved the interactions on the SR2 in ME3, especially Garrus sitting around with a random crew member and Javik going on about reaper monsters. The Tempest crew should have been able to hang out more here and there, but I liked their banter overall.

They're not glued to the spot in pre-arranged scenes in Andromeda, which is good, and helps quite a bit IMO. On the other hand there's the problem you mention, they're not usually doing anything in particular and shout over the intercom. The lack of it feeling as pre-arranged makes it a bit more immersive in Andromeda for me, it feels a little more natural, but I can see why others wouldn't find it as much. Now the challenge is to bring them together for the next game and get the best of both.

AVP is a standard, once AVP is unlocked. The email when there's nothing on the server only started with 1.07. Can't be arsed to start a new playthrough whenver a new patch of fix is released. So it can be down to a character created under the last patch.

Alec's Ark apartment was a waste of space Though maybe it'll be used by your mother in the future??? The Tempest its tiny, super tiny. Smaller then the Normandy SR-1 I head canon that it was meant for Alec and his team. Only its too small for even that. When you consider it was Alec, Cora, Scout and Sera, Liam, DR Carlyle, Suvi, Gil & Kalo [Assumed cause scientist, engineer and pilot] plus Kirkland, Greer and Fisher. [Also assumed members of the Pathfinder team] So.. 12 total. Now obviously Alec would stay in his massive quarters. And we will assume that the good Doctor has a bed unseen bed in the medbay, and that Gil must sleep in engineering. But beyond that, theres still 9 people and only 4 remaining beds. And you'd think if the original pathfinder team originally consisted of 12 people,[One more then Player Ryder's crew] the human pathfinder ship would have been designed to accommodate them all... nope. In reality, what you get is a ship large enough for maybe 8 plus the Pathfinder. If you assume that the Doctor sleeps in the medbay, Gil sleeps in engineering, Suvi and Kalo have racks else where, perhaps near or on the bridge. And the 4 beds in the crew quarters are meant for Cora, Liam, and the Ryder Twins. Good thing Kirkland died, and Greer and Fisher said "nope" to continuing to serve on the team after Habitat 7 all things considered. And thats just when you consider the originally attended human [Plus Kalo] crew. Not the diverse crew Player Ryder ends up putting together which whole new issues from medical and dietary needs to where they sleep because Krogan and Turians are larger and have considerably different body shapes then Humans, Asari, and even Salarians. Its rather ridiculous. And the lack of livable space isnt the sole fault of the oversized Pathfinder Quarters either. Theres a lot of wasted or miss used space on the Tempest. For example the loadout room really should be the same room as the armory, because logical.- Which would have freed up that side room for quarters for Suvi and Kalo at least. (Assuming its the airlock for the side door??] R&D could have been combined in with the Hydroponics bay/science lab. Again Logic. or Alternatively, moved up into the "meeting" room. Either way, it would have freed up all that floor space for larger or additional crew quarters. Speaking of the meeting room, that could have been better utilized as also a lounge area for those between mission moments. The Pathfinder's quarters could have been smaller, letting you expand the join bathroom/crew quarters. Or at the very least they could have included a private bathroom/shower like Shepard's quarters on the SR2. Seriously, the Tempest feels more like a private yacht then a exploration sudo-military ship. And sorry for the ranty post. I have feels about the stupidly small size and pisspoor design of the Tempest.
