Who does ME belong to?

ME is and Intellectual Property of EA's, and it will continue as long as EA sees enough financial return potential from it. Anything else are just delusions from extremely self-entitled gamers.

The question is moot.

For me Bioware for the most part as at the end of the day they created it. But I suppose itkind of belongs to the fans of the series as well because if the trilogy hadn't done as well as it did they wouldn't have attempted MEA. Personally I'm glad they did because despite it's problems I still consider MEA a good game. Admittedly it could run a bit smoother I think technically given the issues but still the technical issues aside I like what I've seen from it.

So we're blaming the fans now?

I won't blame the fans, but I do think the fans are part of the reason why several of the design decisions happened with Andromeda such as going to open world.  Back on the BSN after both Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3 there was a consistent part of the people there saying how much better the game would have been if it had been open world or how much crafting is needed. Things like that, of course then BioWare's is also part of the problem for thinking those few people are indicative of the player base as a whole.

The ME property belongs to EA, unless the fans have somehow managed a hostile takeover of EA.

While the fans are hostile, I don't think they are well-organized enough to take over EA.

Now? Of course not. Blame always belongs to the other party, no matter who, what why or any of those.

It's always their fault.
