Turians Get Ditched...

One piece of logic that could account for their exclusion would be their refusal to abandon their fellow Turian brothers and sisters in a time of war. Culturally it would be in their nature to fight to the last "man."

I don't want another human clone species who are the same as humans and make the same human jokes.

I want aliens with their own personalities.

Sorry, mate, but the 85% Mass Effect main races are partly human based (Krogan, Asari, Turian, Salarian, Batarians, Quarians...). That's not especifically a Turian thing (moreover: Turians are the more alien-ish of them all).  On the other hand you have Hanars, Elcor, Volus, Vorcha... but they are treated very poorly story-wise.

Shinobi's posts on gaf kind of hints on turians being in Andromeda. I posted them in the Twitter thread.

Unless they are mercenaries or military following orders from the Hierarchy to perpetuate their species.

There'd be turians that would ditch the Milky Way to save their own lives and there'd be turians who'd follow an order to or recognize that the ARKs would be a way to save their race as a contingency plan in the case of the Reapers. It'd be rather silly if no turian was interested in leaving for their own sake or thought it was a necessary move for their race's sake. Some of the former might feel bad and some of the latter might feel like they're abandoning their people but that dosen't mean they wouldn't get onboard the ARKs.

Turians, Asari, Salarians, Krogun, and Quarians ARE Mass Effect.

You can take out Drell, Geth, Batarians, Hanar, Eclor, Volus, and Vorcha and it would be fine,but those others define the the series.

Of the MW species, Turians are my favorite from an artistic design perspective. Their society and culture were also some of the more interesting and best executed.

So yes, I would miss them.

given that the whole premise is forging a new home to ensure survival its more likely that either every race represented on the citadel would send a mission team, and the turians would likely be the military force guarding over the majority of the council races (what with the krogans not owning any space ships since they lost the rebellion)

You are right. That "all for the Hierarchy" and "Following orders and fighting until the last Turian" is nothing more than a way to social control. Self preservation is the first instinct for any individual from any species (with the exception of the Geth). Even when Garrus says he is not a good Turian, I don't consider him really a bad Turian. It would be interesting to meet a real bad Turian who is first instinct is "everyman for himself" kinda way. At the same time, it would be pretty interesting if he/she is presented in a interesting way, without any judgement from the writers.
