Mass Effect future projects on Kickstarter ?

Nope, no way, it will never happen.

EA owns Mass Effect, it would be the same as the people from Black Isle trying to make a Fallout game via crowdfunding. They don't have any legal right to use anything Mass Effect related to make a game outside of making it for EA. You would have zero influence in the game, they don't make polls trying to judge what you want to see and I have seen people withdraw huge backer amounts because near the end the studio announced they are doing something people don't like. Besides we have a lot of influence over BioWare already, otherwise I doubt they would have made Andromeda an open world game.

If a publisher like EA goes to the crowdfunded well for money it would not go over well because frankly crowd funding is about getting money to developers that cannot get funding any other way.  Its not "well we want more money so give it to us".

For the type of production values this franchise needs, kickstarter is not the way to go. I think you would see a drop in overall quality from the high production values we are used to. 

Yes Andromeda has a drop in quality compared to the OT in terms of character animations and such (that have been addressed) but looking at the complete package of Andromeda and you can see the game has high production values. The Issues with Mass Effect at the moment are fixaxble...the next game just needs a better thought-out streamlined story and more interesting characters and development.

Some here may be critical of Andromeda, but the game is not going to tank the series by a long shot.

I don't think the Mass Effect franchise is in as much trouble as the internet proclaims it to be. Even with that said if the game was a multi-million dollar loss if you include advertising, I still don't think EA would even come to the table to allow anyone else to use the IP they own. Now if they did how could someone afford the cost of the license and making the game. I would like to know how people would get around that snag.

No, a lot of the hate people give this game is them jumping on the bandwagon and they never touched the game themselves. This game has its problems but not kill off the series bad. They just need better writers to be honest.

In my opinion to make the games different enough from one another so much would need to be changed that they might as well create a new IP of their own and not risk EA shutting them down.

I get what you are saying about the past track record of EA, but they have new leadership that seems to have a different approach right now as well.

I think there is a real chance that Andromeda sold the numbers EA was looking for or at least was very close to, but at the same time they are going to look for ways to prevent what happened with Andromeda from happening again prior to really starting to get into development where the systems might not be properly implemented because development is already underway.  Of course the opposite is true and they are letting the franchise sit for a few years too.

God, I hope never, never, never... Crowd funding for even more widespread fans offering direct (and often conflicting) input on a franchise that needs solid singular direction and better oversight.  Disaster.

As long as they don't sell the license to inXile I could also back that project

My experiences with Kickstarter may not be like yours or anyone else's, but after having devoted effort and money to it in the past I will not ever be doing that again. Complete waste.

No numbers except for the owner count on steamspy that's barely moved since launch, although there was this interview on everyone's favorite website.
