Okay on Sunday I finished ME1 with my FemShep Vanguard Dejah Shepard, and on Monday I imported her as a Vanguard in ME2. And I am following this build for her ... 10 Inferno Ammo 10 Squad Cryo Ammo 10 Area Charge 0 Shockwave 0 Pull 10 Champion 10 Area Reave I play on normal difficulty, and I usually would still pick Heavy Charge instead of Area Charge, but I want to try Area Charge for now. ( I can always change that later if I do not like it. ) Now with that Vanguard build, ( And perhaps the difficulty level as well. ) which Squad members would benefit my Vanguard. Miranda is a dead give away of course. The reason I ask is because I am looking to play through ME2 as much as I can with the same Squad members. I did the same thing in ME1, where I played through the entire game with Ashley and Tali only. This may not be possible always or wise I know, but I still would like to give it a go. So I am not exactly asking which Squad member is the best in the game, I am just curious which Squad member ( Besides Miranda. ) would benefit my Vanguard build in such a way that I can play with the same two Squad members as often as I can? Oh and I am also not looking how to build my Squad members, for that I am following this guide. bsn.boards.net/thread/8343/squadmate-build-compendium-me2-edition

If you are looking to play with the same squad members as often as you can, then Jacob and Miranda can be used the most in the game, and Jacob most of all. Since you are playing on Normal, your biggest choices will be whether you want to prioritize crowd control (CC) or defense stripping. Since most enemies on Normal do not have defenses, I recommend CC. Your best CC options: > Jacob, Jack, and Samara/Morinth (Pull) > Mordin (Cryo Blast, Neural Shock) > Kasumi (Flashbang) Jacob can get to Pull Field the quickest. Jack and Samara/Morinth take about the same amount of time but you can recruit Jack much earlier than Samara without modding. Since you plan on using Area Charge at first, you can have squadmate Pull > Shepard Area Charge. AreleX's Beserker Vanguard made extensive use out of Kasumi's Flashbang Grenade. If you prefer defense stripping to help with the few protected enemies on Normal, then I would use: > Garrus (best squadmate Overload because of power damage in passive) > Miranda (Overload, Warp) > Mordin (Incinerate) Kasumi has Overload, but remember that her cooldown bonus in her passive does not work, so she is better off replaced with Garrus or Miranda. Tali has Energy Drain, but it is locked behind her loyalty mission.

I agree. I usually play a vanguard and I find Garrus, Miranda, and Thane to be rather useful. Also they don't get in my way which is nice. Garrus and Miranda both have overload. Miranda and Thane both have warp.

Well I guess I will take Garrus first and then go recruit Jack, I am curious about that team combination, thank you RedCeasar97 and Exile Isan.

I ran with Samara and Mordin almost exclusively with my Vanguard in ME2. Samara because of her CC and Mordin's Incinerate/Cryo Blast abilities are devastating. They felt like strong compliments for the in-your-face style of a Vanguard.
