I just finished watching THREE HOURS of injustice 2 cut scenes in engine (with higher fidelity assets than in game proper) fully motion captioned
Seriously.....it makes Mass Effect Andromeda look unacceptable.
Yes, every dialogue scene would not be possible to motion caption as an individual thing but the reused animations DEFINITELY could have (there really are not many)... And the main cut scenes? What of those? Come the fuck on Bioware.

Seconded. I've been playing Watch Dogs 2 a lot recently, and every cut scene is mo-capped, and by the VAs themselves which definitely resulted in better overall quality.

First off mo capping ain't cheap and WB has much deeper pockets also mocappin all the scenes in an open world rpg that requires much more input than "side with Batman, Side With Superman." Given how Ryder dialogue choices amount to "Yes, sir" or "Sup bro", they may as well have mocaped everything. If Andromeda is about cinematic storytelling, then it should be a priority to make those moments look good. The fact other games whose focus is elsewhere manage to get better animations is shameful. I don't care how much money they put in - set your priorities straight.

I agree with panda, though I do also agree that something should have at least changed with the "turning back dramatically and pausing" and "curling hand pensively under chin while other hand holds elbow" poses from ME3. More of a minor peeve than anything, though. They just look silly and unrealistic, imo (but at least were only used a couple times).

I don't like comparing with other games, but it's true. There is really no excuse for the shoddy quality. If deadlines can't be changed because of advertising buy-ins, then you need to work to meet those deadlines. There is no excuse, but the reason is simple, budget. People say "Oh they had 5 years and 40 million dollars" Yeah that sum is nothing compared to other triple A blockbusters currently on the market. So instead of giving additional funding to fix the issues they just outsourced a lot of the animation work to Romania(?) because cheaper. All in all it didn't seem like EA was even Interested in this game succeeding and Bioware leadership didn't know how to properly helm this project, resulting in this. Let me just say that i find a lot of enjoyment in the game, but it should never have released in its state, and it has plenty of issues outside of its obvious rushed development and lack of polish.
