Question here. Is there any way to get a decent set of armor in ME1 that has the N7 logo? I hate giving up that logo but the armor is terrible.

I think only Onyx armor has the logo, which appears only when it's worn by Shepard. Some like the challenge of staying in weaker armor, sweetens the victory. Personally, I haven't tried the Onyx insanity run myself. Knowing my luck, I'll recover a record number of Titan, Colossus, and Predator L armors in that game  |

Only the Onyx I, which you're equipped with at the start, seems to have it. To test, I used a console to get every Onyx armor and every Aldrin Labs (they make Onyx) armor. No N7 logos on any of them. OK, just curious. Crap armor it is for this PT.

All Onyx armor (Light, Medium, and Heavy) should have the red stripe and N7 logo when equipped on Shepard. It will not have it when equipped on other squadmates. I play on Xbox 360 and they all Onyx armor seems to have it for Shepard. |

AFAIK every Onyx variant I have used on Shep (pc / Steam) will show N7 and red commander stripe. If you put the exact same armor on one of the other squaddies the logo and stripe magically disappear, but it comes back when equipped on Shep.
Anyway for the unique armor N7 look you are stuck with Onyx. I have done several runs where I stuck with it just because I really don't like the looks of some of the armors. Colossus is especially bad in light form IMO. Onyx stats aren't great, but the bigger issue is that it doesn't really seem to drop very commonly in mid-game and so you won't get very many levels to choose from.
Some of the "inaccessible" armors look alright, but since they aren't really part of the game I don't run them.

You could use the MEUITM mod, which updates a ton of textures. Some not to my liking, but the N7 Onyx resembles it's ME2 counterpart a little.
