Inspired by Voluptuous Volus 's post in the Weapons that shouldn't exist thread I guess I'm pissed not that they use Reegars, but that they use Reegars and STILL cannot do well. And usually those Reegar AIU's and other Reetards will never gel, don't help with objectives and my freaking Typhoon Volus Sentinel is left to do the work. This brings up a subject that I haven't seen discussed here and wasn't discussed recently on BSN Prime: When is it really appropriate to use medigel? This is besides rage-gel, which I think everyone does at some point. Here is what I think I understand from this forum and BSN Prime:
1. When you are down and about to bleed out 2. When you are about to get stomped 3. 3 of 4 of your teammates are down and you need to get up to take immediate action to prevent a wipe, support extraction, or make fun Revive Pile videos 4. When you are downed on the way to the LZ for extraction and your teammates don't have enough time to come get you 5. When you need to get up immediately to continue an escort or deliver a pizza (assuming your teammates are not in the area)
Elite Players - when do you want your team to gel? When should they not do so, besides obvious rage-gels? I think one situation is when you are surrounded by several bosses, a few elite mooks and/or abombs and can't get up without being taken down again immediately - assuming you have no missiles or the game is too laggy to whip out the Cobra and nuke them.
Edit: In which case I wait to see if the enemies lose interest and then gel. If they stay huddled around looking down at me as if my character is a mobile phone, I will wait till the last second, gel, then try to dodge and die or try to whip out the Cobra and die.
Edit: Unless I'm using someone with Annihilation Field, in which case I kill more enemies while flat on my face Should gel use be avoided on early waves to save them for tougher waves 7-9 and objective waves?
Edit: Disclaimer: I only rage gel about 39% of the time, unless I was taken out by a dragoon, in which case I follow the following guide:

I find the MP of this game to be incredibly easy. I can basically solo most of the waves myself. I don't get the whole "not trusting pugs" thing.
You have really sick to fail.

The only time I don't rage gel is when I know a sync kill unit is right above me and my stupid turianass has no dodge capabilities
That is, of course, the moment when one of my team mates will come over and choose to revive me into a sync

I will usually gel immediately after going down, unless I died in a safe spot and a PUG can easily get to me (for example I died in soft cover from splash damage)
Other players should gel on objective waves (especially if the objective is escort/hack) or if they are about to get stomped and nobody got to them. That's about it. (it would be great if they had "an internal clock" to know when the wave is almost over) and not gel if there's 2-3 more players left.
But most importantly, they should use consumables and gear. Put on some cyclonics, put on some shield gear if you feel you go down a lot.

My rage is unending, therefore gel is always warranted.
Unless I know that staying down will result in a pileup, in which case I will stay down to witness the resulting pileup and provide snarky commentary

Medigel is the only equipment I have a constant 255 supply of. I rage gel 99% of the time just to go through it - make JEP more economical.
If the game is a bad carry, I may follow the rules in the OP just to ensure victory.

Personally, I tend to always gel on gold, and mostly always on plat. Most of the time I've gone lone wolf and I don't want to disrupt other players' game. But to be completely honest, I just don't have the patience to wait for the revive and I don't trust the pugs. I will sometimes stay down for a bit waiting for grenades to explode, the synckillers to go away or to get my shit together so I decrease my level of stupid play. The only time I will not gel is when I'm getting dangerously low on medigel and I got killed in a safe position (cover, no enemy staggerlockers/snipers/synckillers) or when I knew I'd die from a DoT effect and decided to go where the teammates are so they could revive me. But I also tend not to gel as much if I play with friends, sometimes from necessity (for example when playing collectors ). And of course, if i get killed while doing a device cause i was alone in there while the pugs are scorewhoring on the other side of the map I'll stay down, and maybe I'll bleed out too if I feel like it. As for other people, I expect anyone to gel when about to be stomped/bleed out (though if it's the last enemy of a wave or close enough and everybody else is alive I can understand bleeding out), when they've gone lone wolf (cause unless I'm playing an infiltrator I most likely won't make it in time and you knew what you were getting into when you went on your own), when it's an objective wave unless it's a safe position and somebody is really really close (or you'll revive into a synckill), and when you die in a bad place, specially if you know i'll get worse.

I've got to the stage where it's a reflex action. I don't like waiting for someone to revive me, especially as there always seems to be one of the enemy dying to try out his new stomping boots on my head. Only time I force myself not to gel is if the game is really laggy. Then I usually end up bleeding out. (Or if I've used up my quota already )
