I can load special ammo for three clips of the currently active weapon. Can I then change to another weapon and load a different ammo type for three clips of that weapon, at the same time?
I'd like to switch between a sniper with disruptor ammo for shielded enemies and a shotgun with incendiary for armor enemies.
Can I do that?

Yep. I typically run a pistol w/ disruptor and a high rate of fire weapon with incendiary for exactly the reason you said.

I'm running around with a Sweeper right now so it's the perfect weapon to test with.

I have a VHS on both my Widow and my Lancer, and it actually seems like VHS improves this to be aproximately three to four clips worth of rounds.
Even if you don't overheat, the ammo eventually goes away.
