For the most part, I am enjoying MEA. My only real complaint, and this is the same issue I had with the original ME, is driving around for hours in that silly buggy! Especially trying to find roads and pathways up seemingly unclimbable mountains! What a waste of time!! I am doing that mission to place radio towers on various planets and i'm on Voeld right now. HOW THE F DO YOU GET UP THE MOUNTAIN TO PLACE THE BEACON????? I've watches You Tube videos and follow EXACTLY the same path as other people but it's jmpossible! I think I'm just going to say the hell with this mission and move on.

Six-wheel drive and then boost up the steepest bits.
Upgrade the relevant parts of the Nomad if you haven't already. It makes a massive difference.

Use the map, pay attention to the contours.
Sensibly timed use of the boost to keep your momentum going is valuable.
With the upgrades you can get over some pretty ridiculous stuff, I almost prefer the unupgraded version since it offers a bit of challenge.

the nomad is genuinely a piece of shit until you get some serious upgrades on it. In any new game, I make sure it's one of the first things I do. Usually I go from eos to havarl then voeld. And between minerals I get on havarl and then some mining on voeld, I can get at least the first upgrade for boost and 6 wheel drive. Otherwise, it's slow and tedious and frankly a great way to put too much tension on your hand trying to drive that thing around slow as it is with the grip you have to keep. Bad design.
On eos use roads that six wheel drive with boost. When you get to Voeld, mine and get those upgrades. It will make like infinitely less tedious.

It would be nice if we could still "no-clip" our way there. Maybe it is possible.

Try turning all terrain mode on. yeah use the qall terrain mode and also buy/research the speed and booster upgrades as they help as well by giving you more momentum up the steeper inclines.

The only improvement over the Mako is that it is more difficult to overturn, and I only did that once with the Mako. I haven't managed that with the Nomad, but I got near when trying to drive over one of the larger wild animals in a confined space.

That's because the nomad is inferior to the MAKO I'm replaying the original trilogy. I'm in ME1 again, for the 12th time, and the Mako may have a cannon, but I feel it's pretty inferior to the Nomad. I miss the Nomad even when doing the mission to stop the Geth invasion in the Armstrong cluster. You need that cannon, but I would gladly trade it in for the Nomad (and Frostbite). I wish they replaced the Mako with the Hammerhead in ME3, but instead we got Cortez and his blue shuttle. I prefer the blue shuttle and the heartbroken pilot over slogging over terrain to plant stakes.

It would be nice if we could still "no-clip" our way there. Maybe it is possible. I love to see the inner workings of a game that I love. It's pretty hard to do that now. Frostbite is freaking amazing.

I prefer the blue shuttle and the heartbroken pilot over slogging over terrain to plant stakes. yeah that's one of the things I like about ME3 not needing to really pilot anything as I preferred the get dropped off do your mission and get picked up approach that ME2 and ME3 had. At least over having the Mako yes we had the Hammerhead but at least in the Hammerhead's case we only use it in a couple of quests so dosen't become that big of a problem. I did prefer the Maklo over the hammer head because at least it takes the enemies quite a few blasts to break the Mako's shielding whereas your dead by the second/third blast in the Hammerhead. And obviously straightaway if you go up against that annoying Geth cannon in Overlord. I did enjoy the exploration it was more that the vehicles were hard to control imo. I will say though that the Nomad is better though not perfect but it's definitely better than the Mako

I use the console to get the super gun just to fly through those missions. The cannon is the only thing that the Nomad is missing.

I use super gun twice, once for the geth invasion described above and the other time for those turrets in Bring Down the Sky. (Don't use for other turrets.)

I've had the same complaints...even with upgrades, locating weapon caches on top of mountain peaks had you almost glitching or getting stuck in the mountain and placing the nomad in weird positions to get to the top of that location. It made the game feel very *video-gamey* for lack of a better word. That was just poor game design...it's ok to make it a challenge to get to those locations, but there should be a logical path to get there. I shouldn't have to hang the nomad on the mountain on a weird angle, get out and hope i don't get stuck trying to get that weapon cache on top of the mountain. I had to reset my game a few times because of that poor game design....
