As to other sources besides Kotaku that is incorrect.
Kotaku was the source all others copied them... unless you can prove by date and time who actually pre-dated Kotaku then and only then will I digress.

If you have any articles that rely on something more than anonymous sources I'd be interested in that. If not, it's just tabloid journalism and you have no proof.

Wrong. Kotoku started it and all these other "sources" are mostly a copy paste of Kotokus fake news.

Absolutely. And those sources are almost exclusively anonymous as A/ they don't want to lose their jobs and B/ if they're revealed they won't be able to supply any more stories. That's why journalists consider protecting a source's identity paramount.

Yes but the source had to actually be valid or it's nothing but rumor. No legit reporter would get away with the dreck Kotoku reported.

Sondergaard, the problem with Kotaku from my personal experience is that so much of their stuff is speculation. Speculation is great if it's your opinion, but it's not fact. In this case, the story you're referring to about layoffs I followed closely. I have a personal interest in Montreal, Edmonton and Austin. The story's original intent and headline was changed not once, but twice. They also changed a few sentence regarding employees being "laid off" and "re-assigned." However, every lazy mook that has a YouTube channel got an erection and reposted Kotaku's article. I've checked Glassdoor and a lot of other sites and no real activity. Kotaku did have an interesting article about the development cycle. I would only bet that maybe 25% of the story is accurate, but that 25% made me rethink my perception of BioWare 2.0.

I've already made my argument which you are either ignoring or are incapable of understanding. I'm unsure which.

Anyway, any reputable journalist uses two or more independent sources. That effectively verifies the story, along with the journalist's relationship with the sources and their past reliability. Now, this is for major publications and I have no idea if Kotaku use the same level of professionalism. Point is, anonymous sources are the lifeblood of journalism, though you'd be daft to only rely on one source unless they had been shown to be completely reliable.

No, it's not a ludicrous position. That's why journalists bother with direct quotes and facts as often as possible. If an article is anonymously sourced, there's no way the reader can know if it's true or not. There's no fact-checking. That makes it rumor and hearsay.

And even if they had legitimate sources, what level were they? Were they contractors? Were they leads? Were they ex or current? I guess hiding these facts insures against lawsuits, but at this point, we're already several weeks behind in terms of what BioWare is already doing to make course corrections. And course corrections need to be made. Oh yeah.

Interesting. Let's hear it. Educate someone who spent the last 27 years working as a journalist. What is a legit source to rely on? What defines a legit source and how do you think anonymous sources feature into that line of work?
