What I would like Bioware to do with the story DLC.

Personally I don't think it will happen, they tried it with Dragon Age: Origins and never went back to the idea and also with how people reacted to Mass Effect 3: Omega where you couldn't pick your party I don't think they would go even further and prevent you from playing the protagonist of the game.

I think there is room for Ryder to work with the Quarian Pathfinder, I just don't think it would be something that detached from Ryder.

I'm of a split mind on this; while I think it would make for a good DLC I think it'd take away from the main story.

yeah I probasbly would too I'd rather stay as Ryder. Bioware chose Ryder to be the protag they should remain so throughout every bit of the game DLC's included. If it's a small Leliana's song type DLC (a side story about on of your fellow companions) then fair enough but not for a big in your face type cliffhanger like we got there. Admittedly Ryder did have to save all the other arks what's one more?  

I usually don't like playing a different characters during a game, it's one of my least favourite part in Kotor2. But you can still implement a new character that maybe saves Scott/Sarah. I would be down for that, especially since the Salarian Arc-Rescue, where the other Pathfinder helps you, doesn't feel convincing even on Insanity. You just kill everything without a problem. LoL.

Maybe something like in Arrival, where it's really hard to stay alive, but you always loose one way or the other.

If they did this, I'd be curious as to the power and weapon loadout the sibling gets and whether or not that changes depending on gender. 

I would not mind having for a 3 or 4 hour DLC a Quarian protagonist being assisted by fixed squadmates, as long as they get to be Volus, Elcor or Hanar. That would be something entirely new to the Mass Effect experience. Ryder can take a rest. By the way, Volus, Quarian, Hanar and Elcor do not require a lot of effort going into facial animations.

If it could be played from the get go as a stand-alone experience, or perhaps even working as a stand-alone game (without being incorporated into Andromeda), then even better. Bioware could even experience a bit with price, perhaps charging 15 to 20 dollars for those who do not own andromeda, and a discount price for those who would like it as a dlc for andromeda.

Taking this route would really get them to a place the original trilogy never went. It would be so drastically different that direct comparisons would become difficult (in my opinion, favoring andromeda).

I certainly do hope to play as Ryder again, but I would not mind taking some time off and changing things a little for one adventure.

And since its very unlikely that the game will receive a direct follow-up, I do hope for a proper send-off with a Citadel-style DLC by the end of the year or later.

I know that the news are dire and morals are low, but bioware montreal is not completely gone. They have taken a major step backwards by being demoted back to a assistant-team, but we are talking about creating content for DLC here, and they did exactly that prior to andromeda, by crafting the Omega DLC mass effect 3 and the multiplayer-module.

I want for the Quarians to appear.

I was under the impression that Mass Effect has been officially shelved indefinitely. I don't think there is going to be any DLC for it, as they don't have a full team working on the game.
