As far as I know, Ascendent can be primed with Annihilation and Flamer/Incinerate/Incendiary Ammo for Biotic/Fire combos. Other primers don't work. I think you're probably right, I'm pretty sure I've seen them comboed from Singularity as well. Yeah, forgot Singularity. Never tried to prime it with Pull but I think it can work. Main thing is, Ascendent can't be shocked and freezed. :noo:

I'm looking to get confirmation on the interaction between AOE Energy Drain and Overload.
Situation 1: In my experience, if I Overload to prime, then accidentally hit a non primed enemy with AOE Energy Drain, I would still detonate my tech combo. But maybe I was still targeting one of the primed targets?
Situation 2: I prime multiple targets with charged Overload, then use AOE Energy Drain, I only get one tech combo (on the primary target, as opposed to those caught in the AOE). Does anyone else experience the same behavior? I remember similar stuff happening in ME where multiple enemies might be primed, but there was a limit to how many detonations a certain power could set off.

Energy Drain is not an area detonator even if you take the area upgrade. It'll only detonate the targeted enemy.

After unlocking him yesterday, I quickly got him to level 20 (thanks XP boosters).
At rank I, I went with the following...
Overload - 4a, 5b Energy Drain - 4b, 5a Barricade - 1 rank Bioelectric Focus - 4b, 5b, 6b Bioelectric Defense - 4a
Maxing Bioelectric Focus is obviously a no-brainer. I needed to go for damage over recharge speed for rank 4 of Overload to tip the damage to shields just over 1900 so I can fully strip most shields when I use Engineering kit.
Having a ton of fun with him and I like the melee a lot, and often use it to finish off enemies.
I forget Barricade exists more often than not.

I haven't played him yet since he's only at rank I, but from what I see with Detonaton feedback is like you're almost in permanent Ascension.
Also, Bioelectric Defense 5b is too good to miss.
I think I'm gonna max out Barricade and Energy drain and leave Overload at rank I.

Only difference is that I put that fifth rank in the defensive passive (5b) rather than Overload.

Not sure I'd give up the additional shield damage to enable killing an Anointed in a quick Overload -> Shot -> Energy Drain -> Shot combo with the Crusader. Think when I have enough ranks, I'll go with capacity and reload on my way to bioelectric ward. I don't think the 20% will make a difference with all the other recharge speed bonuses, and I could probably live without the 30% restoration. Reload speed on the other hand...

Yeah, your build's probably a little more optimal, but honestly he's so good I don't really feel like I need to change anything; he practically plays himself already. Like a Keneticist that doesn't become de-powered every time it loses shields. Kinda tickles me how everyone bitched about his skillset from the datamine - I'd rather he had something other than Barricade, but he definitely earns UR status. Overload's the next place I plan to put points, but I'll have to get three more character cards before I can level it. Even once I get rank II I won't level Barricade on principle.

We didn't have the specifics of the unique passive, and the fact it shared two powers with the Human Sentinel just made it feel a bit "meh". I'd still have preferred new powers, but I do like the kit.

Did anyone notice that he has the Kett Carafalon for melee, which steals health just like it does in single player? Unfortunately it's a motherfucker to aim and time right, so that sucks. But it's neat I guess. You can get health back by smacking dead enemies with it, they're marginally easier to aim his melee at than live ones.

Character is still really new (fortunate to have him at X already). How are you running him? Only have him at rank 3. Been going with the recharge speed build, but there were many instances where the ED/OL or OL/ED combos went just a little short and had to finish it with shooting or melee (melee to finish the Pariahs is especially satisfying). Often wondered what would happen if I switched to only selecting recharge speed in passives and adding more damage to individual powers, but don't have the guts to give up the fast recharge.

Yeah, forgot Singularity. Never tried to prime it with Pull but I think it can work. Main thing is, Ascendent can't be shocked and freezed. :noo: Since they're floaters, I don't think Pull can prime them. Though you can grab them with Pull. You can, but it's just as irregular as on other floaters. I'm still thinking hidden dice escape rolls are at play there, considering the inconsistency of pull's priming window. Additionally, throw and lifting shockwave have very similar results.
