Some of us still need around 25 cards to max URs... I'd share what credits I have left if I could... I got this guy to X, all other kits are on X too, got last 3 character cards in the process

Silly question, which power do you prefer for priming combos and which power do you prefer for detonating? This is sort of related to my earlier question about using E. Drain for priming or just going for AOE.

Drain for priming or just going for AOE. Not silly at all. Prime with Energy Drain. Detonate with Overload. Difference = You die significantly less frequently. Tried the other way and learned I really needed those shields. If you want to troll/just for fun build it, I imagine a chain overload + non primer Energy drain build might appeal to a select few - where you can in theory charge and set up multiple targets to detonate followed up with a radius ED can in theory give you a triple tech explosion but 1) not sure if even possible and 2) kinda rare. Also 3) charge = slow.

If you are using elemental ammo it is better to detonate primed non shielded enemies with ED and at the same time prime them, so you can detonate with Overload.

Did anyone notice that he has the Kett Carafalon for melee, which steals health just like it does in single player? Unfortunately it's a motherfucker to aim and time right, so that sucks. But it's neat I guess.

I'm just sad it's not on his hip like the sword on the duelist. P.S. Sorry for mentioning the sword... Twice... lol

I don't think barricade is bad. The priming/stun from the last rank is pretty good. Weapon damage boost is nice too.
Id probably go 3 in overload and 5 in energy drain. Or do guys think the recharge speed on rank 4 overload is necessary?

Anything less is lowering DPS... the combos are too fast... kineticist speed fast.... And barricade is definitely not a bad power. It's really great but just should be avoided on this character... Barrier rank 6 will return to its glory days if a platinum is ever released...

Do you have any specific examples of enemies you need the overload damage for in order to kill with just the combo though?

Another reason to spec Overload as much damage as possible is to not get shield gated with your detonator. Better off stripping completely.

Or do guys think the recharge speed on rank 4 overload is necessary? Overload and Energy Drain have the same cooldown. If for whatever reason you decide not to take cooldown on one, do the same on the other. The primer and detonator are a perfect cooldown circle when the same. Also, Barricade is useful because it allows you to play aggressively - when you get in a bad spot, put it down and don't die rather than searching for cover. Not to say that you should or should put points into it, but it is useful. I wouldn't put more than 4 in it though.

Btw has anyone had success with the damage zone priming from rank 3 chain detonation? Ive used powers on enemies standing in the blue sparks and haven't gotten tech explosions from it

Also is there really a point in taking energy drain past 4? You can just prime with overload every time Energy Drain gives you an out when you need it, if you chose to prime with overload most of the time. It gives you versatility for when you're about to die, saving yourself but not losing detonation/dps momentum.

Yeah I've noticed that this would help a few times each game, I just don't know if it's worth giving up points in barricade. Also I've noticed that unless the primer completely strips shields, the tech explosion will be stopped by shieldgate. Correct my if I'm wrong, but even with maximum shield damage on Overload you would still need to charge it to take out the shields on certain enemies, such as anointed. And you can still strip shields with a charged overload without the extra shield damage increases on overload. Another thing I've been seeing is that when you detonate a teammates cryo or biotic explosion, you still get the 50% faster recharge speeds. Has anyone else been experiencing this?

Yes, the cooldown thing works for detonating any combo, not just your own tech primers.
