I'm trying to decide. I've got an original XB1 and am thinking about getting a PSPro since I haven't had a PS in years. Unfortunately, I haven't dove into the 4K TV realm yet. Seems like a boondoggle to me.

- I prefer keyboard and mouse controls.
- My PC is fantastic
- There'll likely be mods
- I've never experienced headaches or nausea when playing on PC like I've experienced when I've played on consoles.

Both Sony and Microsoft have come out and said if you don't have a 4k TV then don't bother and I'm inclined to agree. I do and I'm still finding it hard to be enthusiastic about the stopgap consoles because the VR games announced so far are decidedly meh, my tv already upscales 1080p to 4k@30fps and if 4k visuals/performance are important to you then there's really only one way to go. I'd put the money towards a 4k tv set personally.

However, if like me you plan on playing the multiplayer to any significant degree the PS4 platform will be by far the obvious choice. In terms of raw numbers it will be a lot better for platinum lobbies which is why it is my choice because I spent far more time playing ME3:MP than I ever did the campaign.

It's a all about what you prefer gaming on, for me it's PC. I prefer mouse and keybord to a hand-held console as well as the UI adapted for PC games.

PS4 regular - I have it, it works fine and I'll play it there.
I'm not bothered about PS4 Pro the reason for that being that you would need to buy a new 4K TV to take full advantage of the new console, I do believe there is no much sense for people with 1080p TV to upgrade to Pro.

Where I live good 4K TVs are around 600€ and combined with a PS4 Pro being around 400€ that would be 1.000€ in one go. That's IMO too much in one go for something that doesn't even offer 4K native resolution.

I like gaming but I need also to spend my wage wisely, although PS4 Pro is nice I don't think it's worth at the moment. My PS4 regular is working perfectly and my 1080p TV is still relatively new. I might end up keeping what I have and wait for the next PS console (PS5?) who will hopefully feature True 4K and a 4K Blue-Ray reader. In the meantime 4K TVs prices will decline and I'll be able to find a good deal. If my regular PS4 will break I'll buy a slim one.

In truth I think they went too early with the whole 4K HDR thing because it's still a new and expensive tech and the current gen can't run like a true 4K console.

PC, I far prefer the combo keyboard-mouse to any kind of controllers, and I'd rather play at 60 FPS than 30 anytime of the day. That and it's actually easier for me to just upgrade my GPU, since I'd have to buy a tv in addition of a console (and I don't see the point of buying a 4k console if the screen can't keep up), and then, find some free space in my living room to put them... But really, controllers would just ruin the game for me. I can already see myself raging.

Yep, that's pretty much it. And I can't imagine them cocking it up and not having native controller support again, especially in a franchise that started life as a console exclusive. I was utterly baffled to have to mod the trilogy to play with a controller after finally switching from 360.
