Well first impression: Looks fantastic. Second impression: it's a heavily scripted demo, so we still basically know nothing about the game, except that it's a Destiny/Waframe crossover with a Story. The savest thing I can say: I like Warframe and those weather animations look sick. -(_ATHEM_)-
Demos need to be taken with lots of Sea Salt. DA:I + ME:A as examples of reality vs demos.
Indeed. Those graphics everyone is hyped about, not going to be in the finale game.

What you just saw is not going to be in the finale game. Never.

It kind blows my mind that people honestly believe that's what the game is going to look like. Are these just children who have never lived through an E3->Release Downgrade before?

I'm fairly sure I heard biggest "whoahs!" at the flying and diving underwater sections as well as dynamic weather changes. The verticality and freedom to explore were not unnoticed. Combat was less of a concern, because for all MEA shortcomings, Bioware has proven with Andromeda that they can make combat fun. Also - cool-looking new exo-suits that let us do fun stuff.

Are these just children who have never lived through an E3->Release Downgrade before? Even with downgrades titles can still look and play amazing. Besides - the release date is fall 2018. Aside from more powerful consoles being released, a lot of gaming folks will be upgrading their computers, or use new services like cloud gaming that let low-level computers play with graphics on ultra.

Are these just children who have never lived through an E3->Release Downgrade before? I'd hardly expect a big downgrade. It's frostbite 3 after all and it's built specifically for the upgraded consoles. Doesn't mean a downgrade won't happem, but I'd expect minimal downgrades at most. I'd still count on it looking better than 99% of the other games out there.

There's absolutely nothing that actually resembles Titanfall in Anthem.
Hell, I'll eat three hats if Bioware ends up managing to make a shooter with mechanics half as good as Titanfall 2.

I just read: whoa those graphics. Which I always say: it's a demo for a press conference, calm down. Also the weather change will not be as spectacular. Like I said it's heavily scripted for a conference. However the gameplay and exploration is something I get excited about, since I played Warframe for a long time and I was looking for something new later this year. Like Destiny 2. What I want to see now, is a Story trailer, because I want to see what is so typical BW about this game.

Are these just children who have never lived through an E3->Release Downgrade before? First, i never mentioned the textures or graphics downgrades, what i was refering about are the animations of and movements of the character. Also, you can freaken swim in this one, where in Mass Effect Andromeda, Ryder drowns if goes in the water.............. so that is where all of EA resources went to.

Looking at the specs on the Scorpio, considering that it also has to run on the PS4 Pro, and considering that BioWare has never really been able to optimize games running on the Frostbite engine for performance all that well I would expect a decent amount of downgrade to be honest. The pro versions of the consoles are impressive machines, but they aren't as good as Microsoft and Sony are acting.

They may not be, but Microsoft has been very open with the fact that Project Scorpio and Anthem have actually been tied for longer than we think and that BW/EA has been working with them closely since the beginning of whole Scorpio thing. So the game may yet end up to be the most optimized game (for Xbox and likely Win 10) we'll get in near future.

I think people are blowing the graphics out of proportion. I just rewatched the trailer in HD and the graphics aren't that better than already released Frostbyte games. Even the "balcony" scene kinda reminded me of Aya in MEA when looking far away.
The reasons why it looks better is the great post-effects (lighting/particles), the general art direction and destructible terrains/trees which aren't new things.

Just because Microsoft is working with them doesn't mean it will be all that well optimized. EA already said that they were getting help from DICE who made the Frostbite engine on ME:A, and that game doesn't have all that great of optimization. Given Microsoft's history of not giving a damn about PC gamers, I imagine most of their working with BioWare has been focusing on the Xbox. Honestly I'm not expecting great optimization for Windows 10, though by then I'll have upgraded by PC and I'll be looking at a next gen nvidia ti card to run games in ultra/4k/60FPS though sheer overpowered hardware.

Is it somehow Windows 10 only? I'm still running 7 on my PC that I use for shooter games out of stubbornness. If so the game will have to be really fuckin good for me to consider it.

Doesn't look like my cup of tea, not interested in these MP focused games. Kinda sad to see this is what BW's A-Team has wasted so much time on instead of another good RPG franchise. Tastes move on. Whether it is a waste is objectively down to how successful it is. If that's a subjective judgment, it may just not be your thing, play something else.

A big part of the optimization is going to involve the engine however, which is DICE's baby. Also to be honest, DA:I wasn't exactly the best optimized either. That's why I said BioWare doesn't have a great track record, because they have yet to make any well optimized games on Frostbite. There's also only so much you can do when working with that kind of hardware. Like I said before it's an impressive machine for $500 but 4k puts a very hefty demand on your hardware, and Microsoft is insisting that the Scorpio can render games at 4k which is something not even the PS4 Pro actually does.

DAI had to be optimized on 5 consoles and had a tough task of being the very first RPG game on Frostbite - and that was more than 3 years ago. Also, I'll just quote one of the devs: So far they seem confident they'll deliver the product looking as it did. At this point all we can do is wait and see.

How much you notice it will depend on how much you actually care about the graphical fidelity. I don't expect it to be as big as Watch Dogs, but probably still a not insignificant downgrade. The part about the consoles not being quite as good as they're acting is more to note that 4k is very demanding even for top of the line PC hardware right now. There is only so much you can do with optimization of the game before you have to start looking at downgrading the visuals in order to hit the 30 FPS mark that the game will probably shoot for. and if they want 60 FPS, they definitely will be downgrading a fair bit.

Putting a Titan Xp or even 1080ti behind that thing is a hell of a lot more than what any console is going to have. We'll wait and see, but all I'm saying is that I don't see a lot of evidence to suggest that the visuals wont be downgraded for the final release. That's not to say that it wont look incredible, but probably not quite as good as what we just saw.

It's a demo like I said. What you just saw is not going to be in the finale game. Never. It kind blows my mind that people honestly believe that's what the game is going to look like. Are these just children who have never lived through an E3->Release Downgrade before? I wish the game will look like the video but...it won't.It isnthe sad sad reality of downgrades. I mean ,to anyone who believes the game will look like this? Just go look at the ME Andromeda E3 2016 video and look at what we actually got.

The graphics aren't even the thing. The design of the planet itself is impressive, as well as the fact that can swim, and the game had underwater locations. I'm not really into MP games, or persistent online games but Anthem doesn't look that bad. I'm sure my best friend will nag and beg me until I play this and Battlefront II (which had an outstanding gameplay trailer), but these type of games don't hold my attention long.

I will give them extra kudos if we can actually fight/attack in the air.Like if we can wrestle flying creatures and/or fly into them withour suits
