Expanded Galaxy Map modAnyone use it? What do you people think of the mod? IMHO it add a ton of needed things to the game, all lore friendly. The mod don't overstep his own goals and try to introduce new things, only expands the content in the game. It changes HEAVY how the war assets works on the other hand, usually in a much better way than what is in the game. My opinion of course. For example: The economy of the galaxy now take part in the game, with asari and human colonies playing a role in the conflict. Also we have elcor warriors as a war asset now! Yeah...

I've used it. Not currently installed. It definitely adds more to the story but the timed missions...well, let's just say I didn't fully read the directions and lost a lot of assets as a result. I still have the installation files for potential future use.

I love it. The war asset system changes are great, but it's the "tweak DLC/mission timing" feature that really caught my eye when I was debating whether to install it.
That, and the LI cabin invites, which I suppose says something about my priorities.

I still have the installation files for potential future use. Oh yeah, I got burned too the first time, specially trying to evacuate Tessia. Losted most of my Fifth fleet, a good portion of the quarian fleet and to add insult to injury, the asari public blamed me for not trying harder, so I losted asari support as well. It's a great mod that add TONS of things, I'm only learning now in my third playthrough how to use the Prothean implants and avatars effectivelly. The mod changed a lot from the first time I used, it was version 0.4, now is version 0.5.3, there are many new things. You should try it again, it's very stable and not resource intensive. You can apoint some squadmates or people to fill Normandy spots. Having Javik responsible for "Marine Detachment" is one of the funniest things I've read in a long time. Poor private Campbell. LOL
The best part? The text are totally in line with his character, is impressive. I love it. The war asset system changes are great, but it's the "tweak DLC/mission timing" feature that really caught my eye when I was debating whether to install it. That, and the LI cabin invites, which I suppose says something about my priorities. The LI cabin invites aren't from Back Off? WoW, so the mod is even greater than I though. And absolutelly, the tweak DLC/mission timing is the best part! No more Aria mail to invade Omega when I even haven't recruited the mercs or Hackett ordering me to go "on holidays" because a coup and recruiting the quarians/geth aren't important.

I am using it in a current playthrough. It's nice and just from a technical perspective, it's an amazing modding achievement, so my kudos and congratulations go out to everyone who worked on it. It also fits really well into the lore, I only spotted very few details that made me blink there, everything else fits perfectly and I am rather pedantic when it comes to ME lore. The way that the war assets were completely revamped is the best part of it IMO. They are much more sensible now. If I had to criticize anything, it is that it adds so much additional content to the game that it messes a bit with the overall pacing. If you thought the fetch quests on the GM and all the text and email based missions were on the verge of being too much already, you might think twice about using this mod. It adds a ton of GM exploration, which is basically one of the most criticized parts of the main game, the GM fetch quests. Now, they do it very well and I'd say the implementation is better than in the actual vanilla game but it is a lot of clicking and reading and even the (rather brilliantly done) Normandy customization is just fluff. Personally, I love it but I'd say it's definitely not for everyone. BTW, I just recently discovered a brilliant easter egg, let's just say you should check the terminals in the crew quarters every once and a while and see if you can find something ... unexpected.

I don't need to say any more than EGM is now essential for my playthroughs on Mass Effect 3. So much so, that my story modules for Mass Horizons require its installation (Respawn, the combat mod, doesn't require it).
