Very true. I have no doubt there will be another Mass Effect based in Andromeda and I don't expect to see that reveal for another 2 to 3 years at least, which is the usual practice of BioWare. The thing is people think this forum is the center of the universe, but I stepped outside of it, and MEA is getting a lot of love from many people who actually admit they like it and aren't trying to join the "cool crowd" by trashing it for no good reason. When I saw that many people that loved it, I am in zero doubt the series is over. People who hate it are the ones jumping on this and I recognize all their usernames from when I joined BSN long ago in the original BW forum. Their voices are minor compared to many, though annoyingly loud. That's why I take every opportunity on Twitch, when they broadcast, and Twitter to let BioWare, Mass Effect, Mike Gamble and others know how much I'm enjoying ME:A. So that they're always aware that fans are playing the game they released.

I have talked with Ian a good few times on here in PM's too and always tell him that there's a lot of love for this game outside of here, so they are very aware that many of us want it to continue and no doubt they will. They will not just listen to the blowhards and hurt tons of fans who want more MEA. They already proved that with this latest patch.

I actually want to stay in the Andromeda galaxy, but have at it from an outlaw/exile perspective. Let us be some not so good guys this time around. Explore the galaxy and get up to all sorts of trouble I love this idea + the time jump. One reason that Andromeda didn't really work (one of the many) was that the exploration wasn't really interesting because there was nothing to explore. Andromeda doesn't have any history to speak of and every planet was so similar to each other. I like the idea of going ahead 200 years and seeing how it has all changed. Would like to see and be able to fully explore massive cities, as well as ruins of abandoned colonies, etc, instead of just wilderness again like they have now done with both DAI and MEA (and Anthem too it seems). Ryder and Shepard were both of military background. I think it would be cool to play someone who was born in Andromeda, probably a descendant of the exiles and living a hard life on the streets of one the grand metropolis. I would like the story to be similar to that of the Bounty Hunter or Smuggler in SWTOR, where we work outside the law, gather allies in the darker places of the galaxy and go treasure hunting. It could all tie eventually into the bigger overall plot of Andromeda involving the Remnant and the Kett - perhaps we are hunting for the same relics, although for very different reasons. That would gather interest from the New Council of course and we would be able to decide if we want to work with them or against them - or remain neutral. Lots of options there. I wish the tone of the game was more serious and darker than it was with MEA. Closer to what the original trilogy was like. Don't shy away from difficult topics and optimally show both sides of the argument. Let us have complete control over our characters personality - bring back PARAGON/RENEGADE/NEUTRAL and make it part of the story like it kind of was with Shepard. Allow us to choose our characters background and psychological profile that affects their personal story and reputation among other characters. These are all things that people loved in the original games and that were really missed in Andromeda. I would be okay with few characters returning from the first game. Like Pelessaria who's my favorite from MEA. Also some of the more memorable locations to see how things really have changed in those years like Kadara Port or the Nexus. Do Pathfinders still have a role and how has it changed? What's humanitys relationship like with the Angara and the Kett or other Milky Way races? Of course there's also lot more Andromeda to see, but I think it would be good for the next game to be more focused and really build the world and history to make the story and choices feel more meaningful. I want to care about the world and the people in it, but often that wasn't the case in MEA. I didn't care about the Initiative or - especially - the Angara who we were practically forced to work with and care about. I want to make that choice, what are our intentions are and who we ally with. That was something I loved about the original trilogy... it was humanity's story and we were the ones to decide what that means. Stand alone or with others? Your choice. That's how it should be.

The last patch in particular was very underwhelming - providing virtually zero fixes to bugs in the game, with bare-bones additions to CC. What’s frustrating about that is how many of you just eat it up - like you’re sooooo thankful the BioWare janitor and his buddy put in a weekend’s worth of work and provided you a mediocre patch. It’s like you have zero standards - just like with the base game as well. I’m looking forward to coming back to this empty forum in 6 months to glory in the lack of any DLC or expansions for Andromeda. Anthem looks great though. It’s nice to see that the real BioWare just might still exist.

I'd be okay with a sequel set some years later, maybe not 100 years later, although, it could work, and like you said, some of the longer-lived species' characters from MEA1 could make a return in cameo form. I'd also be okay with a direct sequel, with the player either returning as one of the Ryders, or, if Bioware does like the Dragon Age games--playing as a new character. This would open up the possibility for playing as another species, as some fans have wished for. This would work for more distant future settings as well, of course.
Although, you do have the option to play as another species in the multiplayer, so maybe that's enough. And playing as another species would make it all more complicated in the singleplayer campaign, so I can see Bioware sticking with just humans for Mass Effect's future titles' singleplayer stories. I know they did it with Dragon Age: Origins and Inquisition, but...well, it's possible, I guess, with the right direction and planning.
If it's all true about the troubles with MEA's development, and I'm sure a lot of it true, then they spent a lot of time on conceptualizing, and then it got down to crunch time and they ran into problems, including story-related issues. Fortunately, they have all the groundwork laid out for a sequel and a lot of pieces are in place. All they'd need to do is tie up a few loose ends and flesh out some more of the story and do all that in pre-production. I'd say it's all doable. I'm hopeful anyway. Who knows?

Imo i want a direct sequel with Ryder and the crew return. It'll be nice if it's gonna be a trilogy because it has potential to become really good if they expand on the characters and the story.... I hope for a dlc announcement.

A game set further in the future when the AI has a foothold in Andromeda and life is "normal" is a great idea, but one for further down the line.
There are so many unanswered questions, things that Ryder would look to answer herself, it wouldn't make any sense to pass them onto a new character.
Jardaan, Remnant, Kett, WHO THE HECK KILLED JIEN GARSON?!
MEA is just a beginning, and there are so many wonderful ways it can go. If the game had been released after extensive bugfixing and beta testing I think people would have enjoyed the story and characters a lot more-it's hard to care about a game when you keep loosing immersion because facial animation is buggy (or non existant) and quests can't complete.
So, yeah, future Andromeda in a future game, but I honestly think MEA2 will be an incredible game.

I don't see why hundreds of years is even necessary. People were able to build these big ass settlements in a fuckin' year or so. In the MET, humanity has only been part of the galactic community for 3 decades, yet Bekenstein is practically Earth 2: Rich Douche Bugaloo.

I'd rather they finish Ryder's story first. There are still things left unattended to that either only make sense or make the most sense with Ryder returning as the protagonist.
Now once their story is over, then I welcome some of these ideas(especially race selection).

A direct sequel with both Ryders is a good way to go. I guess it could be 3-5years after the Hyperion has crashed on Meridian. Let's say the game starts when both Ryders and the Human crew of the Tempest would go back on Habitat-7 as the AI is finally done terraforming it. The settlements on Eos, Eladeen, Voeld & Kadara are now towns/cities with tousands of collonists living in. Everybody is out of cryo and now everybody as to fuc... make some babies to collonise the galaxy. The game could start as a rescue mission, an another pathfinder is lost while exploring another cluster, and the story can go with that as a base.
After an Andromeda trology, maybe a third trilogy could happen, like the Andromeda Initiative get enough ressources to build ships to make a journey back to the Milky way, only to find what's rest of the reckage of the reapers wars...
I also believe that Bioware could make a spin-off with the Mass Effect universe. Maybe an RPG/MMO/MMORPG/FPS/dunno what game, where you can choose your race, sex, class, etc. that happens let's say in the Andromeda or Milky way galaxy.

I think Bioware should do what EA is doing, just forget Andromeda was ever made.
Either reboot the franchise or create a "spiritual successor".

It’ll never happen - not sure how some of you can’t realize that the stench of Andromeda is something that EA wants to distance themselves from forever - can you imagine the shitstorm if DLC or a a sequal is announced? It’ll be ridiculed to death, warranted or not. That’s not worth it - especially when they’ve got another game coming out that also has jet packs and aliens, and is created by the people at BioWare that are still competent. The minority means nothing to me. I have seen a lot of love for the game outside of here, so I've no worries. If people like Anthem, good for them. OT: Your name and pic is my fav RPG ever! So because you know people outside of here who likes the game, that equates to MEA being liked by the masses? I know a lot of people who hate President Trump here in NC and yet Trump won the state in 2016.

I think the spiritual successor could happen, but even then it would be seen as just Mass Effect in disguise. How about a Jade Empire 2 or a semi-modern day/Cyberpunk game ala Deus Ex? I think it is time for Bioware to open up. Mass Effect had a good 3 game run, time to move on.

I know a lot of people who hate President Trump here in NC and yet Trump won the state in 2016. Well, everyone clapped after the Jedi were abruptly ghosted. Weird shit happens. My point is that people have selective acceptance or cognitive dissonance. If something proves their train of thought, it is thus right and the truth. If something goes against their perception, then it is immediately discounted. It is opinion that MEA is a bad or good game. It is fact that MEA didnt have the best of receptions and it is fact that it is the lowest scoring ME title ever. Over the next few months we will ultimately see what the future of the ME brand holds. Fact is the idea that we are sitting here debating if there will even be DLC says a lot. Nobody ever doubted DLC for the past ME games, so why the change for MEA?
