Have the sequel set 100 years after the first game. Ryder and the rest of the forgettable characters will be gone except for Jaal and PeeBee who would still be alive and could come back if fans liked them enough.
Cities would be built and the Nexus would be upgraded to more closely mimic the feel of the previous Mass Effect games. Technology would be more advanced so they would add new weapons or game play enhancements. Dont call it Andromeda 2 but give it a different title like Mass Effect Reckoning or something. New races could have been encountered in that time and maybe we could pick between Human, Asari or a new humanoid race to play as.
Basically a fresh start to this fresh start

No. I want a direct sequel. Agreed. This just sounds like a way to have a replica of a Milky Way Mass Effect. I'm more than fine without that.

Pointless. The story now is quite open to a sequel and the current PC character(s) can develop in any number of directions every bit as easily as a new character set 100 years later. Even though you're not interested in the current Ryder characters, there are a number of people who have posted here that they are. There is no need to step on their toes at all. Drawing on the populations bases of yet undiscovered alien species and the quarian ark that has not arrived as yet, the outposts established by Ryder can easily be expanded and the timeline need not be that long... because IRL towns can grow into cities within a very short time. For example, the City of Calgary was first established as a fort in 1873 and gain city status by 1894. With resources now available, the Nexus can also logically expand very quickly.
Some people were upset enough about leaving the Milky Way... why upset more by now quickly abandoning a story that's only just begun when it would be completely unnecessary?

While i think the idea presented is silly i do want a time jump of 5-10 years would be appropriate to give the initiative a little breathing room before things go to hell.

That would end the franchise for good.
Many want a continuation to MEA and that's what will happen eventually, but if we went backwards, then I'm done with the series. People need to get over Shepard. That story is done and bringing them back would ruin everything.

An Andromeda trilogy have a lot of potential to build a pretty strong storyline. Hey we all love Shepard but it's just really dumb to return to him without finishing the new story. Hell, when Mass Effect 1 first came out I can't say it was an exceptionnal video game, but when ME2 came out I really started to like it for the introduction of the Mass Effect Universe and the Original trilogy. Andromeda introduces a new plot, new characters. I'm pretty shure that when MEA2 comes out, assuming that EA/Bioware polish the game and correct stuffs before the release, people will say that MEA was good.
Maybe they could also do something to follow up the original trilogy, but not without working on the Andromeda trilogy, and I'm pretty shure that with the Mass Effect bashing fanbase will say that Bioware killed the Mass Effect universe for the Xnd time.

I'll give you this, I do want to see a time lapse between MEA and MEA2, but only of about 10 or 15 years. Give the Nexus something to lose but still have the Ryder twins as the protags.

Actually the plan wasn't a trilogy, but a saga, meaning a possible new PC to play like in DA.

After the amount of hate Andromeda got, i will bet cash money MEA2 doesn't bring back the Ryders as the playable characters. You know, even if it was a success or not, bioware said they didn't have any intention of direct sequels la expanding directly off Ryder, they even said the decisions may not as well (but to hold onto saves just in case). Point being it's a 50/50 thing on whether Ryder's story continues regardless of it's a success or not. Andromeda is setup where Ryder doesn't "have" to be directly continued. There are other pathfinders that can continue the exploration and colonization of Andromeda, it gives differing perspectives and Ryder doesn't have anything specifically that requires a future game (DLC can easily finish what's left from home Garson, the question Ark and the family stiry). Andromeda doesn't give any vibes that Ryder has to be in sequels, it'd be fan service if they do simply cause people liked the protagonist. its one of the things I do happen to like about Andromeda cause they can get a new start with a different protagonist with no strings attached.

People need to get over Shepard. That story is done and bringing them back would ruin everything. It’ll never happen - not sure how some of you can’t realize that the stench of Andromeda is something that EA wants to distance themselves from forever - can you imagine the shitstorm if DLC or a a sequal is announced? It’ll be ridiculed to death, warranted or not. That’s not worth it - especially when they’ve got another game coming out that also has jet packs and aliens, and is created by the people at BioWare that are still competent.

The minority means nothing to me. I have seen a lot of love for the game outside of here, so I've no worries. If people like Anthem, good for them. OT: Your name and pic is my fav RPG ever!

Yeah they have a saga planned, but it seems some people think a new game means no other games will be made. MEA is done, minus some patches and DLC. They won't work on the next with EA having them focus on other things right now. They can't just sit there and keep trying to please a lot of ungrateful "fans" when they have other games to make, but making other games doesn't mean ME or DA is over. I remember when DAI ended people did this same shit about no DA4 and now here it is!

The thing is people think this forum is the center of the universe, but I stepped outside of it, and MEA is getting a lot of love from many people who actually admit they like it and aren't trying to join the "cool crowd" by trashing it for no good reason. When I saw that many people that loved it, I am in zero doubt the series is over. People who hate it are the ones jumping on this and I recognize all their usernames from when I joined BSN long ago in the original BW forum. Their voices are minor compared to many, though annoyingly loud.
