In the second title they even had the promisse to see again a green alien with promisses of... don't knwo how to word it... date? Sex? Commitment?

The volus and the Ferengi would be a match made in heaven.

The Bajorans would take in the quarians.

The kett, the Borg and the geth would generate one heck of an evil super power.

The Cardassians and the battarians would cooperate and form the Obnoxious Empire.

The Romulans and the salarians would become best pals.

Risa would be full of asari.

The Rachni would move into fluidic space and team up with species 8472 (alternatively with the Xindi Insectoids).

Speaking of the Xindi, their Aquatics would fight the hannar for all those ocean planets.

The turians, krogan and Klingons would wipe each other out in a glorious three front war.

The terminus systems would basically all transfer into the mirror universe (also, that's where the Citadel DLC would take place).

I can't think of any more right now, maybe later.

Pretty sure FemShep is based on Babylon 5's Commander Ivanova.

More like her demeanor. Cold, stoic and commanding. If you make Shepard as a Spacer, that's kinda like Ivanova's background although she's jewish. Ivanova was the XO of Babylon 5 station. She's also bisexual. And it doesn't help that the first five minutes in ME1 was an exact tribute of B5's episode one.

Of course Star Trek is one of ME's influences but just one of many.

If you like Mass Effect (and I happen to know you do, haha), you should watch it. It's almost like ME: The TV series.

They have a Citadel (B5), they have the Council, they have a reaper equivalent, they have an equivalent of the biotics discrimination issues (though more important here), they even get a Normandy equivalent in time. Even the Earthforce uniforms look almost like the ME uniforms (or rather, the ME ones look like the B5 ones).

I only started watching B5 after I got into ME and the similarities are really uncanny. I loved it. You just need to get used to the very early CGI work and the very ... colorful space but otherwise, it's great (it does need a few episodes to really hit it's stride but it really is an epic storyline).

I wholeheartedly recommend you watch it.
