Skull & Bones

I'm curious to see how this handles for SP; story, chars, ship handling, representation and if there's any base building incorporated. For the last, I think not. So far it's all nice cutscenes and no gameplay footage.

I've handled sailing in Sea of Thieves and Atlas (mp, no sp). Both are pretty good. SoT has very realistic seas and ship motions. If the waves are rough, the ship will toss up and down. Atlas, not so much. Even if there're tornadoes, there's not much tossing and heaving.

It can be frustrating when the wind is against you and dire when you're out of food, etc on Atlas. If you have scurvy, you die. Your senses are befuddled, you grow weak and finally, death claims you. Yup, that's how it is in Atlas. Of course, you can just suicide by standing in a fire or drowning yourself or asking a crew mate to shoot you. You just respawn hale and healthy.

Sailing requires cooperation and listening for the captain's orders. That's solely for multiplayer. I'm guessing for SP for this game, the crew are robots and the player simply directs the ship, like AC Odyssey.

The ships in Atlas are well represented. From the dingy to the galleon which is the giant in the list. What ships will there be for this game, I wonder? 

It's a beautiful looking game, with some neat naval combat. But after watching actual gameplay... its shortcomings reveal themselves pretty quickly.

No boarding combat, no real exploration on land, a lot of repeating cutscenes... I have a feeling this would get boring pretty quick. Oh, and...

"Speed, Mr. Mercy. Speed!"

Yeah, that got tiresome before the video even ended.

An update to Skull & Bones from Ubisoft Singapore

- Will not be at Ubi Forward
- Working on a more ambitious game
- Need more development time
- New talent has joined the team

I think someone just hasn't gotten around to updating their website. Last I heard, they were also trying to get a TV show going based on this...

Yeah why didn't i think of that you're so! clever Hrungr.  A TV show hmm ... i don't know what to think of that though.   

Have to be really nice to Hrungr looking at that avatar with that many teeth.
