Hey guys,
I would like to know how Hold the line works.
It seems there are two options.
1st option: One has 1000 HP and gets hits by a 1000 damage skill and die. Which means it only works when you first get hit by a 700 damage skill in order to turn "hold the line" on.
or
2nd option: One has 1000 HP and gets hit by a 1000 damage skill. First 700 damage it dealt and for the last 30%, the 300 remaining damage is lowered by 200 damage reduciton, therefore by 66%. In this scenario you survive.
Which one is it? Thx in advance.

That was a close one ... Did you have flashbacks? I did. It wasn't pretty. To answer OP's question, I think it kicks in only when you get hit and your health is already below the threshold. I didn't find it very effective and I use cover like a pro, so I always choose In The Trenches instead.

I believe it works like your first option. So, for example, if you're in the line of fire of a Destroyers turrets it'll kick in when you're health is at 30%, but if you were to get hit by the Destroyers cannon it'll take you past that health gate to 0. At least that was my experience with combat fitness on Insanity. I wound up respeccing for In the Trenches because, well, I'm not playing a Krogan. If I'd been playing a character with a shite ton of health I'd go with Hold the Line.

It probably has a much better use if you also have emergency shields refill Barrier evo. So something (not explosion) takes you to the healthgate, you get a full shield refill and 200 DR, and you can live long enough to kill that pesky bastard who took you to healthgate, or run away if there are too many pesky bastards.

The second one. Here is the description for it:
Hold the line: Dramatically increases Damage resistance when below 30% health. Low Health Damage Resistance: 200
So, it kinda subtracts from before you are hit, not after. As in, you won't die if you get attacked by someone with an ATK power of 1000 because of it.
And besides, who has a 1000 ATK power? OP got me there.
For people who are clueless, I just found out OP is talking about the Combat Fitness Skill rank 6 called "Hold the line".

Presumably you'll have to test it for yourself. Reading the description literally I would have assumed it means less than 30%, as it specifically mentions below 30%. Tbh both skill ranks are a bit naff anyway, if you simply must put the points in Combat Fitness then I'd go with In The Trenches, as it's more practical.
