We should all just give up and die.

Having never romanced Pibbi and CorCor twice in two seperate games.

Or having unlocked mum from the fridge.

Never getting the chance to break Liams heart or betray Jaal and the Angara.

Or finding out what that creepy AI is all about.

Or what happened to the Quarians in the SP.

No more wondering about that Abassador to the Nexus.

Or what happens in Kadara after your choices...

We should all just give up and die.

Ordinarily I'd advocate for a form of Mass (Effect) Suicide by filling shot glasses with 98% alcohol and green food colouring labelled "Ryncol"

But I feel this isn't that kind of ending. This is the "We got old and fell over" ending.

And it's worse than the Catalyst.

There is no coming back now, so...

The only way forward from this in the traditional Hawaiian way of mourning a loved one.

We will mourn till we die.

Throwing our souls into an imaginary airlock inside of our own minds, focusing on the imagery as a way of collectively willing ourselves to death, each day forsaking food and water, creating infections in our organs by carving out new sections of our own flesh as we wail away at the sun, our eyes burning while we mourn and attempt to purify ourselves before the end and entertain whatever gods may be.

Tie us to posts bordering the oceans at low tide and let the waves wash us down by a dozen. The future holds nothing for us as gamers, so we should die.

But we shouldn't give BioWare the satisfaction of going quietly. We should draw out our deaths and stream them on our youtube channels and as we lay bleeding, infected, blinded and broken hearted and starving; breathing deeply for the last time in what used to be our lives. We can take solace in knowing we didn't die alone, because the whole world will be watching.

And we will remember Shepard.
