Doing tech support at a call center, which ended up being my first job, too. It became hell for me after so long.
I'm out of that job, and now employed under one of the school districts in my city, and I feel much happier.

The ringing of the phone haunted me in my dreams and I knew, I cannot do that much longer. It was quite okay overall, not too many stupid or rude people, but it just wasn't for me. They wanted to make me support billing stuff, too, like when the buyer did not pay or the seller did not ship and stuff like that. I missed three out of four days of training for that, therefore didn't pass the test and knew next to nothing. They still made me do it and I would have near panic attacks when someone called because of a billing problem. Not my worst job, but definitely not a great one, either.

I worked in a laundromat where I did people's laundry for them. As if washing other people's underwear wasn't bad enough, then there was the ironing. There was one guy that came in every week with his seven pairs of jeans that I had to wash and then iron. There was the hot guy whose skid marks I had just removed and then folded his tight whities neatly for his retrieval. There was the woman who brought in her drapes. I haven't ironed one thing since I quit that job 20-plus years ago.

They still made me do it and I would have near panic attacks when someone called because of a billing problem. Not my worst job, but definitely not a great one, either. Ah yes, support. I had to do that for a year in the same company I described in my first post in this thread. The product we had to support was basically a ripoff of Microsoft's Visual Studio by a company named Informix. Our boss smelled easy money and charged Informix for four phone lines of support, but actually put only two of us on the job, meaning we got way more calls than we could realistically handle. But that wasn't even the best thing. The real kicker was that there was a quota of customer problems you had to solve each day, and that the product we had to support actually had known bugs with no workarounds (it created memory leaks in the code it compiled which always led to the application being built eventually crashing). All we could do in many cases was to delay the problem (by giving advice that minimized the memory leak, but eliminating it was impossible), which predictably led to a lot of customer dissatisfaction and lots of more yelling.

Probably a tie between:
1) Working the cafeteria dish room as part of my financial aid deal in college. When people were finished eating, they put their dirty dishes and trays (often along with food that they didn't bother to eat or throw in the leftovers barrel) on this conveyor belt, and our job was to clean off the trays, sort the cutlery and plates, load them into the washer, and generally get everything ready for the next day's meals. Just a generally hot, unpleasant, and gross job. Plus there was the time I managed to cut my finger on something without noticing for a while and we had to redo a lot of the washing to make nothing had blood on it.
2) A one-day temp assignment with this company that needed their delivery lists checked. There was a big stack of hundreds of papers (one sheet per customer), and a master list of all their delivery destinations, and my job was to make sure that the individual customer sheets were in the same order as they appeared on the master list. Which they already were - meaning I spent the whole day literally doing nothing but turning over pieces of paper. I was kind of glad that the assignment only lasted a day or I'd have probably started chewing my fingernails out of boredom.
