Jaws of Hakkon, because story wise, you learn more about the Avvar, their rival tribe and the present Inquisitor meeting their predecessor. Also, the Frostback Basin is a beautiful area to explore.

Jaws of Hakkon, it gave a good amount of backstory and gave an interesting new insight on how mages can be trained.

HAIRS!! OMG HAIRS BIOWERS!! cough Seriously though, Trespasser was wonderful and my favorite DA DLC. It made me laugh myself to tears and it made me cry* tears of sadness. I enjoyed the roller coaster ride of emotions. *It is rumored I can't actually cry. Accurate.

I loved The Descent's gorgeous maps and cool additions to lore, but ultimately Trespasser's story and companion interaction was better. Jaws of Hakkon comes third for me, but I still found getting to know Avvar culture interesting.

All were worthy additions.
I love the Deep Roads, and thought they were beautifully rendered in "The Descent". Obviously, the additional lore was great and most welcome. It seemed to confirm many of my long held beliefs concerning lyrium and "returning to the stone"; and I really look forward to seeing more of the dwarves and the Deep Roads in the future. The party dialogue was lacking. I wish my companions had felt as engaged in our expedition as I did.
"The Jaws of Hakkon" was much better than I'd anticipated. Learning about the original Inquisition and its heroes, and bringing their quest full-circle, was enjoyable. I did not like the overly aggressive wildlife in the region. The game insisted on pulling me into pointless combat as I road through on other errands. I never experienced this in any other region of the game. It detracted from the experience a bit.
"Trespasser" is hard to describe. It affects so much. The entire game is improved by its presence. The actual playable content of Trespasser is a mixed bag. I didn't love the story, nor the opponents, nor many of the locales. Winter Palace? Ugh. That said, it all made sense as a setup for the next story. The elvehn sites and lore, and the meeting with Solas made the whole thing worthwhile. I've only played it once, with a Solasmancer, and I imagine the ending varies with each Inquisitor.
The originally released version of DAI felt incomplete. These DLCs, especially Trespasser, make this game feel complete. I can't imagine playing the game without any of these, but especially without Trespasser. The Trespasser DLC essentially fixed much of what was wrong with the game at release.
I think it's also worth mentioning the Black Emporium. It's a very useful place that should always find its way into any DA game, logic be damned. I don't care if we have to introduce teleportation or wormholes to get to it, I want my Black Emprium available in all future DA games. Barring that, someone had better steal or duplicate Xenon's mirror. It has allowed me to touch up make-up after vallaslin removal, as well as to fine-tune cheeks, and the like, on new faces. Very important stuff, that is.

Voted for Trespasser, but honestly - all three are pretty great. Not quite finished the first playthrough of Jaws, but am near the end. Initially I thought it was quite a bit weaker than Descent - which I also played for the first time last month - but have since decided that it was more of a slow burn and has gotten better and better as I progressed.
While Origins remains my favourite DA game, it's fair to say that the DLCs released for it - especially the "in-campaign" ones, like Return to Ostager or The Stone Prisoner - were a bit lacking. I could take or leave Mark of the Assassin, but Legacy and the three DA:I DLCs have been fantastic, in my opinion, although I wouldn't complain if they were a little longer. That's really a nitpick, though.

Trespasser for me. The soundtrack was gorgeous, the stakes seemed a lot higher, the interaction with Solas was awesome, bittersweet and tragic all at once (and I didn't play that one with a romanced Lavellan yet. The feels when that will happen!) and, though it does leave some loose threads, it's nice to see some DAO-style send-offs. Even Varric and Hawke got a very long overdue, definitely-earned happy ending.

All that said, the DLC I probably spend the most time in is the Black Emporium. Well, that's the most useful dlc. I wish we would have gotten that one earlier. All those poor Inquisitors who died got deleted because they looked like shit after the CC. Never again.

I agree with anyone who said that while Trespasser is the most important DLC for the story JoH is the most fun to play, and it's the DLC who offers more variety: both The Descent and Trespasser provide few to none exploration.
I still think that all those big areas in the MC should've been done exactly like Frostback Basin.

I liked all of them. If I could only have one, I would choose Trespasser for the main story continuation and companion interaction, but JoH was a fun exploration romp that finally gave us a chance to explore the Avvar, not to mention the interesting Inquisition lore.
Descent was a neat dungeon crawl and I'm always happy to explore the Deep Roads again, I would put it last for its lack of meaningful companion interaction and story that brought up more questions than it answered.

I wish they also patched up the male elf too.

Am I the only one that doesn't see Trespasser as DLC? It's the "rest of the game you didn't get because we ran out of time and had to stop somewhere."
Which is why I voted for JoH. Descent was confusing and poorly written, story wise, and had no banter. It just created a mystery for funsies. JoH answered questions I didn't even have and wish I'd known to ask about. The Avvar culture was cool. It ADDED and enriched my Dragon Age World where Descent just played "mystery reveal game. What can we do to shock you?"

hair, as in the musical? the descent have the best music (though i like the music in all) but trespasser is the best one for sure. offering a perfect ending to the inquisition. and it took the best romance in the game aka solas romance, and added even more depth to it. 2nd playthrough in trespasser i went with my solas romanced inquisitor, i cried, hard. so much emotion. so yeah trespasser wins in my book
