Slow-Firing Sniper Rifles - Any Way to Make Them Not Suck?

I'm OK with them, personally. Well, more specifically, the trusty B.Widow - can't be dealing with those filthy alien rifles.
Headed out on a new SP playthrough + initially returned via MP first before taking that SP plunge - both cases involved the B.Widow. It helps to be utilizing sneaky strats (ie. Tactical Cloak) - easier to make the limited shots count. In such a playstyle, it helps to chunk things immediately (preferably from range) which is why SR's suit me fine in that regard. Sometimes wading up to a batch of mooks with a Reegar or similar isn't going to end well due to X or Y when I can do that with powers instead if needed and save my weapons for something more meaningful. Have decent aim anyway and it works fine against armour, but yes, shields are the kicker. As such, things basically take one extra shot - the BW has 3-4, spec dependant, so you tend to dunk those minigun-kett in two hits rather than one. The issue is landing said hits before reload. Some can do it, some can't. My 250mb broadband means that I can.
As for the Widow, well - my days of ME3-MP Widow Infiltrators are semi-behind me, but yes, they worked better there as the results were meatier. In short, this is a more mobile game favouring more mobile options. Sad fact is that everyone and their mother is farting around with lazer-light-shows trying to top the board, yet sometimes they don't beat that pesky Angaran Avenger with her BWidow who's sneaking about picking off everything from safety. I know that isn't because of the weapon in question, just saying it can work. Whether it should work better or worse, I'll leave that to you guys to debate. I'll wait until I hit max and rock Platinum/Gold more consistently before I give a solid opinion - but until then, this is a Sniper Rifle user signing off.
