www.theverge.com/2017/6/16/15819680/bungie-destiny-2-the-darkness-luke-smith-interview-e3-2017Much like Bungie, expect BioWare to pull a "well... we didn't actually know what we wanted to do with The Scourge in the first place" move. They've been copping out non-stop recently and now Bungie has given them a possibility of a free pass. If they can do it, why can't BioWare? After all, BioWare is now making a game that's like Destiny. Original Quote: The Scourge is handled the same way as "The Darkness" in Andromeda. It's this mysterious force that you occasionally see physically manifested but there's little to no indication of what actually caused it to happen and being the faceless force it is there's minimal potential for actual conflict with it in the future. Of course, they could also steal Drew K's Dark Energy concept and slap it on top of the Scourge but I'm not going to be surprised if they take the Destiny card on this one.

It was used against the Jaradaan, targeting anything Remannt and forced them to extract Meridian and send it away. It's the scar left over from a great war that took place centuries ago. Most likely it was created to stop the Jardaan from their plans for the Angara to inhabit Heleus, since that's what they were chosen to do. The Scourge itself is a piece of a larger story involving the enemy of the Jaradaan.

I doubt it's as "nonsensical" as you might think. After all, they even refer to it as a form of Dark Energy in the game.

That would really suck, since the Scourge was probably the most interesting aspect of MEA.

Most likely it was created to stop the Jardaan from their plans for the Angara to inhabit Heleus, since that's what they were chosen to do. The Scourge itself is a piece of a larger story involving the enemy of the Jaradaan. I think that the Jardaan and the wonderfully named "The Opposition" are still around and they just simply left Heleus. The Protheans in ME1 we see the bodies on Ilos, in MEA the only remains of that war are the Remnant and the Scourge. We never get any other information on them compared to the loads of information in ME1. We don't know if the Scourge is the result of some deadly weapon or at least a weapon that made Heleus unlivable by the time the AI left the Milky Way. Its hard to say if the Jaradaan are the villains here, because why create vaults that can support life? Sure they could probably destroy life at the touch of a button, but still. The only reason why I want them alive is I'd be curious what would happen once they realize (they probably already did once they saw one of their vaults was activated on Eos) that all of the vaults and including Meridian are activated; which is why MEA2 deserves to be green-lit just based on the Jardaan alone.

The Scourge itself is a piece of a larger story involving the enemy of the Jaradaan. In fact it's stated that Khi Tasira station( originally mistaken to be Meridian) is one that caused the Scourge to span entire Heleus system. However that was secondary "explosion" after effect, as that station and Meridian were the primary target of a weapon that fired the Scourge. We know a lot more about the Scourge in ME:A, then we do about the Darkness in Destiny.

The scourge is a piece of a much larger puzzle. It is not the whole puzzle.

and this puzzle is quite big and I'm pretty shure that most questions about the scourge, with the Remnant, will only anwsered once we learn more about the Remnant and the Jardaan. The Jardaan seems to be the key to most stuff in the Andromeda galaxy
