titanbooks.com/blog/announcing-official-mass-effect-novels/There is supposed to be another one coming out this summer (and another this fall) and July is just around the corner and yet we do not have a release date yet. Furthermore, we have not heard any mention of the second novel since all 3 novels were first announced last year. It appears that on Amazon, the book is not even in the system, as of it doesnt exist. Moat of the time announced books that arent released yet still show up in the system either for pre-order or just shown to let people know ot is on the way soon. With the first novel, Nexus Uprising, it had a nice amount of lead up and soft marketing before release. We even had a release date months in advance. Assuming EA is still willing to continue the story of MEA, you would think we would have heard more on this novel but we havent. Thoughts?

Eh, first day of summer is next Tuesday. Last day of summer is September 21st. Ask again then Yes, but my point is that this next novel is essentially non existent. Amazon does not even recognize it which is funny since with past ME and DA novels, they were in the system even when an official date was not announced. No new updates or info or news what so ever regarding Mass Effect Annihilation novel. Mass Effect Nexus Uprising released in March and had an official launch date set as early as October 2016, 5 months before launch. By that standard we should already have a launch date for the 3rd novel, Mass Effect Initiation which releases this fall and but instead we still have NOTHING on the 2nd novel.

Well considering how successful Andromeda was I'd wager the books got cancelled. I could be wrong though.

My money is on it being canceled due to the negative reaction MEA got. A lot of rumors are saying the series is on ice and them canceling books would be proof of it.

Not much of a loss IMO. I never made it past the first few chapters of the first Andromeda book. Not sure if it is the author's style but I just couldn't get into it. Wish I never bought it.

Wish I never bought it. what has the first book in common with this one? it is supposed to be written by someone entirely else. I also don't get how people get to the conclusion that ME:A wasn't successful. sure, the reviews were very mixed, ranging from praise to hate and everything in between, but I seriously doubt that was a financial failure. we didn't had a lot intel on the first book until short before release as well, I think it just got delayed and we'll hear soon about it again.

Wrong, we had a set release date for the first book 5 months before its release. We also had some soft details regarding the timeline/events of the first novel and so on. Again, this is all around 5 months prior to the novel coming out. For the second novel, 5 months from now would be November......and the novel is supposed to release in the summer and yet here we are with ZERO info about the novel and NOTHING regarding the release date and sites like Barnes & Noble/Amazon pretty much has the book as NON EXISTENT.

Can you imagine if all of these professional writers had actually worked on the game instead... what a crazy idea. Huh? Are you ... saying ME:A needed more writers? If so, no way - that's one of the areas that needed the least help, surely. Writing was of generally high quality, apart from certain contrived parts of the main plot, but that's likely down to the lead writer and lack of direction during development. Unless you're saying one of these authors should've been the lead writer instead, but I'm not so sure that makes sense either, unless one of them happens to have a lot of experience with video game development.

Just read a roll of toilet paper. It has about as much literary value as a video game book.

Not much of a loss IMO. I never made it past the first few chapters of the first Andromeda book. Not sure if it is the author's style but I just couldn't get into it. Wish I never bought it. I found it readable but struggled because it felt like author was trying to make me sympathetic to Sloane and i just wasn't feeling it based on her actions. I'll only miss the follow up books in the sense of missing the sequel to MEA they would have supported if they have indeed been canned.

Writing is subjective, I thought the dialogue in this game was dire but even if you enjoyed aspects of the writing most people would agree that the plot and characters were woefully under-developed compared to previous BioWare titles and have been widely criticized. Having these guys not wasting a year of their lives writing these irrelevant probably cancelled books and attached to the core property instead under the stewardship of a competent director might have saved it.

Probably delayed because it is dependent on future MEA content. Amazon had it as "Mass Effect Andromeda: the lost ark" in its schedule for a late June release. Sounds like Quarian ark related. So it might have to wait for a DLC to be released first. www.amazon.co.uk/Mass-Effect-Andromeda-Lost-Ark/dp/1785651587

I enjoyed the book and I'm looking forward to the second and third. I'm wondering if some of the questions in the game will be answered in book form, like the murder of Jien.
