That's because dpi means absolutely nothing beyond "the cursor moves more pixels per movement" which is a fancy way to say default sensitivity. Exactly and the Hori Tac Pro reviews that downrate the set's mouse specifically mention sensitivity issues. OP is on PS. Or of course first trying the mouse that he bought with the Hori Tac Pro... 1 - I looked into it and answered my own first question and it seems it simulates a thumbstick for input. That's why it has sensivity issues, no relation to dpi. 2 - Yeah, I know. I just meant to point out getting mouses with big dpi numbers may lead to no extra benefits. Pro players use good mice but it's not the dpi number which atests for the quality 3 - Sure, no reason not to try it and I guess no one is sugesting otherwise. But OP read somewhere people recomend replacing the original one with a better model and getting informed on how to chose the replacement can't hurt even if he decides he is fine with the basic kit.

While I agree that dpi doesn't say everything, it does make a difference. I found one reference by a user that makes the claim that the sensitivity issues are due to the mouse simulating a thumbstick. Almost all other reviews I could find that dealt with sensitivity were specifically dealing with dpi. Moreover, if simulating the thumbstick is the problem, one can't solve it by replacing the mouse...

EDIT: seeing a lot of people recommending Razer garbo, that's fine everyone has their opinions. My opinion is that with Razer you're making a "bet" you could get a good one or you could get a piece of trash like mine (by all means, check reviews on the internet, they are quite mixed when it comes to Razer). Unfortunately, you are correct. It didn't use to be like this though, my old Deathadder is still alive and well (I think 5 or 6 years old)? Then the new one seems to be made "more cheap" than the old one. I have noticed an overall drop in the quality of their products (a friend works for one of the companies that distribute them here so I've had an overall view of their products). I hate it when a company I used to like does such a massive quality drop (the more "mainstream" they become)?

I hate it when a company I used to like does such a massive quality drop (the more "mainstream" they become)? My experience has been even worse. Since its first release, I had used one version of the DeathAdder or another for 6 or 7 years. During that time, I owned 4 or 5 DeathAdders and not a single one didn't experience the infamous double click malfunction and become essentially unusable. I only kept buying them because while they worked they were absolutely phenomenal mice. Thankfully today we have some great competition. Don't even get my started on Razer's headsets. Never owned one myself but I have demo'd a few of them and would never buy one. I'm more of a headphone + ModMic person anyway. I think they have a few quality keyboards out but as with all Razer products, overpriced. It's a company I'd just never buy from now; the peripheral market has exploded and we don't have to put up with bullshit any longer. EDIT: Forgot to mention I owned a Copperhead somewhere in that time period. Broke within a year.

I'd suggest to stick with the included one for a little while so you can get a starting point of what you want. Then, ideally, you'd test a bunch of mice and choose a favourite.
There are lots of things to take into account when choosing a mouse. Like your preferred sensitivity or cm/inches-360. Lower figures mean you'll be aiming mostly with your wrist and you wont have to reposition your mouse often, while bigger figures translate into arm aiming and lots of lift-offs. In the latter case you'd probably prefer a lighter mouse and a tighter grip.
Then there's the surface you'll be playing on, like a wooden desk, a cloth mousepad, a hard mousepad ... Different sensors work best on different materials. There's also number of buttons and their positioning, hand size, wired vs wireless, grip and your own posture when playing, budget, etc.
Personally, as far as I know, Logitech, Roccat and Zowie make products worth checking out.

I googled that thing and wtf is it and how do we kill it? I would suggest something from the Steelseries sensei raw series. Not too price with under 50$, decent quality and not overloaded with shit.

I've been rocking the Logitech G502 and absolutely love it. Very easy to program and can switch profiles and sensitivity on the fly. Exactly what I use!

I recently bought the Logitech G502 to replace my G500. I found the thumb rest button a bit sensitive and it was uncomfortable to hold trying to avoid hitting the button by accident. I returned it to Amazon and ordered the Lioncast LM20 Gaming Mouse instead.

So I'm playing MEAMP on PS4, and I just bought the Hori Tac Pro but from the reviews I'm reading the advice is to use a different USB mouse than the one that comes with it. I'd like to not drop $100 on an extra mouse, but was wondering if anyone on the PC version of MEA could recommend a good mouse. I've never been much of a PC gamer and I don't follow along with the terminology used in describing pc accessories. Would love to get a few opinions/suggestions. Thanks! Logitech m or g 500 series for the last decade ive tried others but there just not a good fit / the corsair m65 is just too small for my hand, I tried the coolermaster inferno and I really liked that one but I went through 4 rma's in under a year (all for the exact same problem, the ptfe feet degrade too fast and screw up the optical sensor) so scan finally told me it was out of stock and sent the g500s, since then ive bought another two (don't know why but I wear out mice pretty fast) also have to say the proteus core mouse being able to change its balance point and glide level as well as on the fly dpi adjust and programmable buttons is perfect for gaming imho

I returned it to Amazon and ordered the Lioncast LM20 Gaming Mouse instead. the problem with faster polling rates is it can screw up other things, in the past I've had terrible trouble when adjusting it to anything other than 125hz but then I don't have some gaming mobo that's designed to have a mouse on a spate pci lane to anything else /

Personally, as far as I know, Logitech, Roccat and Zowie make products worth checking out. You can never go wrong with Logitech. Solid to exceptional hardware and this is not limited to mice alone btw. Won´t comment on Zowie, haven´t had anything of them yet. Had a couple of roccat products, and with two exceptions were fully satisfied. Exceptions were Roccat Renga and Siru.

Yes, the Headset G430 ( very good, but I managed to "smash" it, doh ). And my speaker system X 540 or sumthin like that. Sorry, had that for almost a decade now. Both very solid given their price.

Razer DeathAdder is a very good mouse. Its very ergonomic. But it has questionable build quality (some are good some bad). I have been using it for the last 3 years and its still in good shape.
Asus ROG Gladius is pretty similar.
Both are heavy (good) and palm grip.
NOTE: My Deathadder sometimes suffers from click issues. Sometimes it registers two clicks for a single click and sometimes it does not register anything at all. This seems to be happening when the air is dry. The solution is to blow some moist air into the gap between the mouse button and body. That should get rid of any static buildup and it will work fine for day.

They are notorious for that problem and with so many >= alternatives, in this poster's humble opinion, there is no reason to subject yourself to that torture. I'd rather use a 10 dollar Wal-Mart mouse than a DeathAdder with the double-click problem.

I bought a 2.1 System from Logitech ~7 years ago. That thing went straight back because the sound was horrible. Then I got me something from Teufel.
