1) I never liked shift mode 2) WTF are the jump jets for? The thing was so front heavy I could almost never use the damn jets effectually. 3) It had an 8 track player in it! 4) Poor coffee cup holders.

Coffee cups are unnecessary. Ryder's armor has a built in heated camelpak that provides plenty of coffee straight to her helmet.

Yea the nomad is garbage. They should have brought back the MAKO, since it's actually capable of things. What things? Shooting things is essentially its one strength over the Nomad. In terms of driving dynamics, the Mako is greatly inferior. If the Nomad was an armed vehicle, then there wouldn't be anything left to miss. Mako is superior. •big gun •doesn't slow down going over the smallest of bumps (makes the Nomads 4/6 wheel drive thing a joke) •doesn't need boost to climb mountains •also doesn't respawn if you fall off the mountains like the nomad. There's various instance where I was intentionally trying to go off a mountain to reach a destination, only for the game to then respawn me back ontop the mountain once I made it halfway down.

That's strange because I've taken the nomad straight down some huge cliffs (long, long, drops) and not ever had it respawn me back on top. I've taken the nomad up some very long near vertical walls... far steeper than the mako. I've made some terrific jumps and I still have lots of mod options left to add. I like having the option to boost it when I figure it needs more power... and I'm really enjoying the improved (tighter) turning ability. Perhaps you need to make some adjustments to your Vehicle Sensitivity settings?

I'm going by memory more so than how the game is currently setup. So changing settings won't be happening. just understand I liked the mako, besides its clunky turning and maneuvering I still consider it better by far at traversing straight up a mountain (there were much more mountains in ME1 and just look at all the memes with it). The Nomad is a racing mako with no gun to me, has the speed but lacks the power.

The Nomad is a racing mako with no gun to me, has the speed but lacks the power. I liked the mako as well, but I have found that the nomad is equally capable of climbing (and rapidly descending) mountains as the mako was... even mores capable because with the mako all you could really do if you lost forward momentum while climbing was to slide back down and take another run at it and sometimes snaking around a bit would help. If you were trying to climb a point where it just wasn't in the programming, you were hooped no matter what. With the nomad, you can do a lot by just hitting the boost and the right moment (just before you totally lose forward momentum). My only "complaint" about the nomad is a lack of a forward brake mechanic for stopping a forward descent (unless I just haven't figured out the timing yet to activate a reverse boost); but a well-timed forward boost while going uphill works great, IMO.

If the Nomad was an armed vehicle, then there wouldn't be anything left to miss. Mako is superior. •big gun Note that I addressed this already. A bit of an exaggeration, but the Mako actually is much slower in a straight line on level ground, so in any case actual speed is more the Nomad's strength over the Mako anyway. Fair enough, but ultimately, what's the difference? The problem with the Mako and climbing is that you have to climb steep craggy mountains a lot of the time to get to points of interest, and that took time. I can't recall how much time I lost slowly grinding away at a cliffside because cliffsides were everywhere and some bunker was up in the mountains miles away from the Normandy drop point. But this is more a map issue than a vehicle issue, and in that regard, ME1 could sometimes be a pain in the ass. That's not a vehicle issue. The same exact thing would happen if you did that on foot. In my experience, you only respawn if you jump the cliff like Thelma & Louise, and of course there's a certain limit where that would actually happen so shorter cliffs are usually successful jumps. Simply climbing down against the surface usually works so long as you never free-fall off the side.

The Nomad kicks the Mako's ass in many ways but it doesn't have boom stick like Mako...some people miss boom stick on Mako...some people sad Yes, some people are butt hurt about the gun. I would have loved a gun myself; but that's still no reason to unfairly represent what the nomad does do by implying that it cannot climb... because it can climb... very very well. The player has a great deal more control over the nomad precisely because they can switch between 4- and 6-wheel drive (and later between agility mode and standard mode) and add in a boost to either mode. Also, I think it's great that I can now use the nomad as cover and not have to worry about it blowing up in my face right away. Really, for the shields the mako was supposed to have on it in the lore, it really couldn't take much "heat" at all. I'm also quite sure that if there was a gun on the more heavily shielded nomad, people would be whining about the game being way too easy because they'd just sit inside and pot shot everything from the safety of the nomad. A "thing" I frequently see here with people making complaints about the game is a tendency to try to make their complaint a "universal, locked-in" problem and then they instantly put in on the developer to "fix it."; whereas frequently, it is that they're unwilling to explore various options designed to give the player(s) a more individualized experience (just saying).

They have designed the encounters to mesh with the design for the nomad they used. There are also a lot more places in this game where you need to get in closer and there is no real cover available until you're almost in too close (inviting being easily flanked)... i.e. a situation where using your vehicle as cover is what makes the most sense.

The interactivity of shifting driving modes loses its novelty quickly. this the lack of terrain's diversity however

Okay, it's not a military expedition, but a turret hole allows someone like PeeBee (with an appropriate helmet) to fire her personal weapons at targets. The banter would be cool.

Coffee cups are unnecessary. Ryder's armor has a built in heated camelpak that provides plenty of coffee straight to her helmet. I'm not waiting for 2187 to get that! Yo, filing for patent now. That is something I want to wear every morning. No bed hair. Noise-cancelling headgear. Music on demand. And hot, HEB-brand "Taste of San Antonio" coffee being drawn up through that emergency induction port. Ahhh... I can see it now. KaiserShep, you're a genius.

Would you rather have the ME1 version back? Because I wouldn't. *Shudder* No offence, but I have to wonder about people who complain about such silly things.....Is it too much finger exercise or something? I'd rather have ME1 mako, has a gun at least and can actually climb mountains(even if those same mountains have to have the correct spot to do it). The nomad really isn't that special besides it driving smoother but it's a downgrade everywhere else. I wouldn't mind the Gun back myself, but everything else about the Nomad is 100% superior to the Mako. Just my opinion of course.

It is automatic. You putting it into 6 wheel drive. At least they didn't make you stop the vehicle then shift it down into 6 wheel drive then proceed like in real life.
Was anyone else forced to learn how to drive a manual car/truck first when they were 15? My dad made sure I knew how to drive well and drive just about anything. I was actually 13 when I started practicing but I lived in a rural area
