Would you rather have the ME1 version back? Because I wouldn't. *Shudder* No offence, but I have to wonder about people who complain about such silly things.....Is it too much finger exercise or something?

I'd rather have ME1 mako, has a gun at least and can actually climb mountains(even if those same mountains have to have the correct spot to do it). The nomad really isn't that special besides it driving smoother but it's a downgrade everywhere else.

The nomad climbs ludicrously well (with rocket assist to keep your forward momentum) once you've got a few upgrades. And will get you anywhere you need to be without upgrades if you're prepared to read the map occasionally.

The interactivity of shifting driving modes loses its novelty quickly. it has automatic transmission, but yeah shifting to six wheel drive is only a click of mouse or controller button....hardly heavy duty gear changing. You can get around permanently in six wheel drive. Everytime I return to the Tempest, I am amazed that Gil doesn't tell me off for trashing or thrashing the Nomad like I do lol

I think they should have given the first level of upgrades to boost and vertical right out of the gate. For eos it's not too much of an issue but by voeld, those first upgrades are essential. Kind of a slow, boring, tedious nightmare if you don't have them. By Kadara, you might want to kill someone without them depending if you are an off road driver like me. God I hated kadara mountains to drive through. Though they make for an attractive looking landscape.
Still, it's an improvement over mako. Playing ME1 after MEA makes me long for the nomad. I did it. It ain't fun.

And will get you anywhere you need to be without upgrades if you're prepared to read the map occasionally. I think overall it traverses most terrain faster, but even with boost you can still slide right down a mountain if you do so in the wrong spot, same issue as the mako. I'm aware of the upgrades as well, I still prefer the mako.

The interactivity of shifting driving modes loses its novelty quickly. Just keep in 6-wheel drive then... It goes about the same speed as the old mako did.

If it were anything more than a button click or mouse click I might agree, but since it is just a click to shift between 4 and 6 wheel drive I didn't find it tedious at all.

A recon ship or hovertank does not have any of those problems. Silly Bioware. Wheels? Especially evident near the very end of the game, everyone is flying around in a fast nimble aircraft at several hundred mph and your rolling on the ground in slo-mo like in a fucking rickshaw.

You know, we probably shouldn't complain about the nomad. Matt Damon would have given his left nut for the nomad on mars.

At this point, shifting back and forth's become second nature to me, but then it's the same for me on racing games since I prefer to use manual transmissions.

I think we should have had a 6 speed manual box with reverse on the extreme left, accessed via a top-hat pull.
To make it more fun, it should be designed by the guy who did the gearbox on a Chevrolet lacetti. May god have mercy on his soul.

Mako defied gravity, on top of being a nightmare to drive, and those "mountains" in ME1 were an ugly texture mess. Also Nomad can climb mountains, just without defying physics and gravity. You know, a bit of a challenge.

It really grinds my gears they went out of their way to call it 4WD and 6WD at all. I comprehend that the switching is feasible, but the immense difference in straight line performance doesn't make any sense that way.
Switching gears, I'd totally go for an actual manual transmission. After all, every good brand needs a "-Racer" spinoff! (lie, but yes, maybe, I don't know. I would probably buy it and then keep cursing CoD fans for ruining gaming economy and whatnot)
P.S.: I hope the awfulness of the included motorist puns was to everyone's satisfaction! I can go worse if need be.

Can I just ask, what exactly is the point of the other mode? I forget what it's called, but it's represented by the swervy lines when you switch to it. For like more control or something?

Yea the nomad is garbage. They should have brought back the MAKO, since it's actually capable of things. What things? Shooting things is essentially its one strength over the Nomad. In terms of driving dynamics, the Mako is greatly inferior. If the Nomad was an armed vehicle, then there wouldn't be anything left to miss.
