I got stuck on the loading screen after Jaal's quest to meet his mother so I closed the game. When I reloaded I was at his house outside of the standard map for havarl. For the curious minds...

I'm rather amazed that it's textured and shadowed that far out of the playable map.

I saw a similar vid once and the person was able to visit Jaal's house. It was dark, empty and creepy lol

I'm rather amazed that it's textured and shadowed that far out of the playable map. Yeah, that's why I started recording it. I was astounded how far the map went out. It was just land that eventually hit the edge of the map, but there were monoliths out there so they would show in the horizon for havarl but the map went beyond that even. Then there were the mountains past the map edges that I could walk. At one point, I wondered if they might use that at some point in time, like DLC or something given how large it was. The foundation is there if they wanted. It would just be building on what is there with plants/foliage and buildings and of course lowering some of those monoliths because some were airborne LOL.

It was a bit into my traveling around the map that I started to record it. If I watch his meeting the family scene very closely, nothing in it shows they would need this much detail since we don't even really see out the windows. Only thing I can think of is that amazing view at the top of the Sage's place might be why they did that, but it feels like maybe they had planned something even bigger to explore and cut it?

That's why I really wonder about it and wanted to travel the map to see if there was anything interesting. It expands beyond the actually square map we have on all edges. There is a cave that is labelled when you hit the area for it. I think it might be the cave where you activate the third monolith because there's no entrance. Underground cave or something like that is the name of it that pops up. They might have just made it extra large because they wanted monoliths in the distance or because maybe at one time they intended it to be larger but didn't have the time to make it that big. considering the amount of foliage to the actual havarl map, it probably would have taken a while to make it because even though it's small, there is more on that map than any of the others. What I really would love to see is the forge where you do Jaal's quest. That ocean looks amazing. When I do that quest, I go to the bomb at the edge and check out the ocean while in cover for half a minute. The colors are absolutely stunning. Something like that should be on a map you get to spend quality time on.

Something like that should be on a map you get to spend quality time on. I was wondering that too. Someone flycammed during the Jaal/Sara and Jaal/Scott love scene and it showed a hidden cave they place them in that we don't see except for that one scene, so the cave being where the 3rd monolith is does make sense! I loved that area of Havarl. I had hoped we could explore more! Once you save Havarl you see the sun in the distance and his LM shows it setting and it's stunning! The bioluminescence is breathtaking too!

Ah, glitching games Inquisition had some awesome huge areas outside each map, one of the most fun was Skyhold. This thing was like the size of Skyrim! I have a hunch this was supposed to be a playable area that got cut.
