Been taking a break from mea to play horizon for a while, but with the patch out I'm thinking of trying a new character. My first two playthroughs were as an engineer/infiltrator and then as a vanguard melee build. I'm not typically a huge fan of biotic abilities though, and I wasn't really impressed with the constructs on my engineer.
So I've been toying around with different build ideas and this one seems to be the most interesting. I would probably go with the sentinel profile, and base the build on cryo beam + flamethrower, fire and ice. Center ability could alternate between shield powered lance or overload as a detonator. An alternate profile could use singularity + chain overload for dealing with larger groups at range.
Thinking the angaran armor and reegar carbine would work well for this setup, not decided on a melee weapon yet though. It'd be a semi close range combat style, with the carbine, cryo beam, and flamethrower all having similar ranges.
Thoughts or suggestions?

That'd give you a mechanism for reclaiming shields when needed as well as a detonator.

looks like an interresting build, flamethrower for close enemies, cryo for farther ones. I would go with a biotic power like lance or throw as a detonator (sentiel build) or I could even go with Concusive shot. You could even use Charge if you want to keep your enemies closer to you. You could also use the explorer profile, it gives interresting bonuses

Don't cryo and flame abilities cancel each other out tho? eg if you set a target alight and then use cryo you put them out?
Not the end of the world, just something to be careful of.

Maybe cryo beam from long range, charge to close distance and detonate, then flamethrower. Make sure to grab the aoe evolution for charge so that you can detonate multiple enemies at once.
You could also replace flamethrower with incinerate, which would let you stay at long range, and either take the detonator evolution or detonate between elements.
Omni-vents is particularly good for any power heavy build.

It'd be a semi close range combat style, with the carbine, cryo beam, and flamethrower all having similar ranges. Thoughts or suggestions? My builds so far : - Vanguard/Adept : Biotic Charge, Lance, Backlash / Remnant VI, Throw, Annihilation - Engineer : Cryo Beam, Overload, Incinerate - Infiltrator : Turbocharge, Tactical Cloak, Concussive Shot - Adept : Singularity, Lance, Tactical Cloak - Engineer : Barricade, Remnant VI, Incinerate - Sentinel : Energy Drain, Annihilation, Throw - Pure Sniper : Turbocharge, Sniper Rifles, Combat Fitness Engineer profile got better Tech damage and power recharge overall as Sentinel but you decide if you go more defensive with the Sentinel or more offensive with Engineer. My engineer used : Cryo Beam, Overload and Incinerate but this is for high range fight not semi close. You can handle any situation with this build. For the semi close range you better go with the Sentinel build you got to sacrifice damage over defense, and Reegar is the Perfect choice of weapon. Better armor is the Heleus Defender Armor, you can buy materials on Aya and aboard the Tempest i think this is slightly better armor than the Angaraan Armor.

Engineer profile got better Tech damage and power recharge overall as Sentinel but you decide if you go more defensive with the Sentinel or more offensive with Engineer. Engineer gets combo damage and construct damage; none of the profiles get tech damage. I think the sentinel gets more tech recharge past rank 3 as the combat drone cooldown doesn't scale with rank.

In my next playthyrough I am going to use an explorer profile on a vanguard themed character that will have biotic charge, incinerate, and cryo blast (or is it called beam now?) all on the same profile. Going to be causing incindiary and cryo explosions all over the place.
