For me falcon cryo soldier is one of the most boring kits to play with. I'm not saying it cannot be effective, it's just plain boring. The sound of the falcon is quite irritating and annoying to listen to aswell. I've red many times posts and threads about how awesome concussive shot it, but i always found out i just enjoy hsol better, if I put points in something else.

I'm a little confused by the Shatter evolution of CS. It says it adds 100% damage to frozen targets, which, in my experience means that enemy needs to be, you know... frozen. As in, icy popsicle lying on the floor. At which point, those 100% extra damage is pretty pointless, since the guy is as good as dead anyway. So, does it work only against frozen targets, or those chilled as well? Incinerate specifies that it works against frozen or chilled targets, but I see no such specification in CS. Some clarification would be nice. If it works against chilled targets as well, I might actually deploy my male soldier. No way the female one will allow me to take Claymore away from her You also get that bonus for chilled targets (otherwise it would be useless considering how unreliable even Cryo IV is at solid freezing targets). Thanks, that's all I wanted to know and a good news as well Time to deploy Mr Freeze, I guess

Talon is pretty optimal. Acolyte is good as well and easy mode almost. Scimitar is my favorite though on him, just bc it scares the shit out of people to dominate them with the scimitar. Geth though can be a struggle with a scimitar load out. Reapers and collectors are toast, cerbs as well just ignore the atlases unless you have the extra firepower of a decent weapon.

On holiday on Dantooine. This whole "vengeance on the Jedi" thing gets very tiring after a while.

I finally went with Darth Volus' build. Specced out of Adrenaline Rush, went full fitness, cryo Falcon with the magazine upgrade, and I've been finding the games extremely fast paced and fun.
And what do you know, I'm actually liking the Falcon!
Thanks for everyone's advice and I'll be sure to try out alternate versions of the build and different loadouts.

I use Bateman's hipster build (no AR, power amp) with an Acolyte and CSMG, Cryo IV, and it definitely does work on Gold. The Cryo Soldier is surprisingly powerful, given how rarely you see it in game.

Easy. Instead of weapons, you deal all the damage through Concussive Shot. It actually works, but it can be quite tricky on Platinum. The CC build can be specced in many ways, you'll hear many opinions, all of them are good. Here's my line of thought with the HSol: I NEVER, EVER, ever spec out of Adrenaline Rush. Period. Choose Hardening, because you'll be getting a lot more exposure, always Short Duration and the Shields evolution. This will keep you in the game if you accidentally get shot by DOT missiles. Use Rush to cancel the bees out. Never leave your house without your keys and your Frags. In this particular build, I like to stack the Dot so I go for Bleed damage. Armor or Shields, it up to you. Both really useful. For the Concussive shot I choose Damage (though Radius has to be paired with the "Hammer" evo for maximum effective zone), and Shredder will get you a pretty fine DOT vs Organics. Always remember to specc into "Shatter". The idea is to equip Disruptor or Cryo, and with a light rapid fire weapon spread the ammo effect to your enemies. Then quickly spam CC. Throw a Frag to add more Dot to the party. Disruptor guarantees a million Tech Bursts, while Cryo doubles the damage of Concussive Shot (Shatter). I'm in fond of Incendiary rounds for CC. Here's an example: buildTurians are also welcome. Give it a try with friends, it's super fun. So I tried your build and I'm now going to offer some thoughts on it. Keep in mind that, while it may sound a little harsh at places, it's not my intention to criticize you or your build, only to offer some food for thought. I tried it on Silver and I actually went with Avenger. Silver because I don't trust myself on Gold with this particular build yet and because of Avenger. I think I actually scored some five kills with the gun. I had a group of decent pugs(QME with Krysae and Hurricane, both at level X, I believe, vorcha soldier with relatively high leveled Wraith and a pretty competent, if low leveled(in terms of N7 and CP) Paladin) and I managed to outscore the lot of them, without scorewhoring or using missiles. I didn't die too often, a time or two, but I almost never used AR. Just... didn't feel necessary. The combination of DoTs was very nice and very deadly, I felt and racked quite a body count. But I don't know... maybe I was doing something wrong, but I never felt CS was doing much damage. Maybe Avenger was just bad at priming targets with Cryo ammo, but if the target wasn't down to health and completely frozen, I had the feeling the thing just did piddling damage. I probably did something wrong. Maybe I'd need Acolyte, but I kinda hate/don't know how to use that gun. Reegar? Adas? Those two seem like a good choice. With all that in mind... it was a lot of fun to play. Much more aggressive playstyle than usual(though I suspect the fact I was playing Silver had more to do with that than anything else), lot of action, blood pumping, lots of mooks flying around... yeah, I had fun, would play again. Probably not on Gold and certainly not with Avenger, but on Silver, most certainly and I may even take him to Gold, with better weaponry.

Thank you. And do not worry at all. Life's harsh, video games are not. Constructive criticism is a way to move forward. Now, Adrenaline Rush is a defensive mechanism for higher difficulties and the Avenger is there mostly for nostalgic reasons, plus I love it's sound. It's Dps sucks, but all I need is a fast, light and accurate spray and pray weapon. Lancer is a reliable choice, but I'm not using an Acolyte, Reegar (oh dear God) or the annoying Adas for that matter, I need to push CC to it's limits. I did a Platinum duo with I_Never_Extract long ago. We were both using Avengers and Cryo ammo, but because we believe mixing things up gives us better results, I was using the Damage+Shatter+Hammer evolutions on CC. I skipped the Dot therefore I did not stack it, but the damage I was dealing especially vs Barriers with Cryo ammo was extraordinary. I have used the build on another occasion, Platinum again. There was this strange team (I have met them twice) hosting a Sanctum match. A Paladin, a Shadow and a Juggernaut. You get the idea. Best weapon present was my Avenger, I assure you. We successfully defended the small room on the upper level, a different and funny game with pugs - that does not happen very often. Of course it will lag in terms of raw damage, keep in mind it's Concussive shot we're talking about. All in all, it's an alternative way to play the Hsol. Plus a pretty solid way for new players to start the game. I wish I had more CC spammers as teammates than dead ones using the Reegar. Make your adjustments if you want - it's not a one-way road - and definitely up the difficulty.

I run an hybrid AR/conc shot build on my HSol, but I spec mine for full fitness, sacrificing all but 3 ranks in the grenades. I used this build for a solo and a couple of duo challenges, which explains the extra focus on fitness, but I take it to gold in pugs and do really well with it. If durability is a concern, perhaps you can give this tweaked build a try! Since you asked for videos, here is one where I use the avenger in a recent gold duo; I usually run the lancer with this build though. One more thought: the mantis works really well with a conc shot HSol; with a bit of practice you can use conc shot to hide the reload animation quite reliably; put disruptor ammo on, and you can do quite a number on cerberus and geth!
