Anyone know how to make Shale's crystals show up after messing with their attributes in the Toolset? I read in one thread over in the archived/Fextralife version of the old BSN that it requires setting certain item propers in the .uti after creating the file, however, the link for what those properties are appears to now be non-functional. Anyone can confirm this is the case, and know what the property values are, or where to find them? Or know of an easier way to do it?

Altering item properties shouldn't affect spawn (or the the ability to respawn new copies with edited properties, via console)... what exactly is the the issue you've encountered?

Ah, I meant "show up" as in "appear on her body". They still spawn just fine, but when I equip them on her, they've been invisible so far.

Did you change the properties/attributes globally via the GDA file (or rather, 'files') or just in the individual item files (UTI)? And did you try placing the edited files in the toolsetexport subfolder (ie; '\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\override\toolsetexport')?
And finally, do the visuals work properly if you remove the modded files and respawn?

I've been re-creating the items from scratch in the Toolset, using the same process I've done to modify a few of the other default items. Step by step, it's:
1. Open toolset 2. Create new item 3. Assign a filename to the item that's the same as the default filename of what I want to change. 4. Create the item as a "new item". 5. Export the UTI 6. Copy the exported UTI file to the override\toolsetexport directory
When I load up the game, the modified statistics and values for the items are there, and they will equip to Shale, and give the proper statistics. However, they are invisible, and it looks as if she's equipped with nothing.
Thus, I tried Google-searching and found a note in the archived/fextralife forum that after creating the UTI files, it's required to edit them and add an additional item property that isn't in the Toolset by default, which creates the appearance of the crystals (so like one Property value for the fire armor appearance, one for ice armor, one for fire weapon, etc). Since I don't have the values, I can't confirm whether this is the case, hence why I'm wondering if anyone else has done it, and if so, whether they know what those property values are.
I'm also curious what the slot IDs for the large/small crystals are, so I can give her proper set bonuses.

...aaaaaannd A-HA! Found the properties. The source is the old BSN: social.bioware.com/project/1701/discussion/1156/Gonna copy the guide here for posterity as well: Note that this seems to specifically create items at the "largest" level of crystal; it seems additional properties may be necessary to fully change their appearance based on level, but it's a good start, I think. Besides, why not have Shale be as shiny as possible? Of course, if anyone knows the additional properties, that'd make me even happier. Now I just need to find those set ID values, and I'll be rocking (pun not intended, but in retrospect, I think it's pretty good!).

Did you ever find those set ID values, Lazarillo? I've been experimenting with known values, and also tried to "reverse engineer" this by looking at a save game where Shale is equipped with a set of fire crystals, but no luck so far...

I finally managed to locate the holy grail! The set ID values are: Shale's Weapon (Right Hand) - 16384 Shale's Armor (Chest) - 8192 So if you (or anyone else who finds this in the future) wants to create set bonuses for Shale, the Slots value should be set to 24576!
