The ME:A 'Story DLC Cancelled' Sinclair Networks Facebook hoax

There's been a pretty sustained campaign to pour hate on MEA, no question. it's a solid 7/8-game that's being treated worse than Aliens: Colonial Marines.

Whether or not Jason is in on it is a very different question and one that I think is a bit stretching to say the least, but I can easily see him taking the word of a 'dev' because they were saying stuff he could sell.

Honestly, I'm a mixture of fascinated and annoyed - the former by the audacity of it and the latter by the sheer lack of thinking going on.

Having said that, I suspect the hate train has gone off the cliff now. Anyone pushing the 'MEA is on teh ICE' narrative is going to get tarred with the same brush and be branded an imbecile.

Weren't this guys (Sinclair Networks) the origin of the story about Bioware refusing to have 4 or 5 months more to work on the game?

But this just wasn't a hoax from today, they've been doing this since the game came out. They've been posting patch notes, and all kind of things since March, some before the game even came out. What was the purpose?

But I know a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who walked past Bioware Montreals studios once and he said the building was condemned.



Mass effect is dead. Thats the whole reason its still being given content and patches. And DA4 is not going to happen, and the sky is green and I'm secretly a turnip.

That might work, but that would require for EA and BioWare to bring up that lawsuit.
However I doubt they are interested, likely would cost a lot more then what they'd have potentially lost in revenue.

Plus it makes it more difficult as person who done this is anonymous and goes under fake alias. So that would require some serious police resources to hunt down real person.

So whole lot of trouble for someone who, in grand scheme of things, done rather trivial damage to EA/BioWare. Especially since social media managed to debunk this on it's own, so word of mouth would recover any losses EA/BioWare may have suffered.
So, Free Market capitalism at it's work?

Since we don't know who they are, it's really hard to tell. They could be some OT fans, dissapointed about the new way of franchise, some ex-workers of either Bioware or EA - or just some really bored morons.

While this hoax is clearly annoying I still stand by my point that BW itself is partly to blame for this. Had they dropped in previous weeks a single sentence like:
"Yes future SP DLC are in our plan"
or
"Sorry guys no SP DLC for MEA"

This idiotic things wouldn't have happened. Lack of clarity creates these situations.

It'll be interesting if Bioware will comment on this at all since it played out overnight in Canada.
