What if the next 2 Andromeda books are the DLC O_o What if they tie up all the loose ends from the game? I know it sounds stupid. There's little pissing me off when it comes to gaming. But this would leave me royally pissed, since I bought a game expecting it to be finished. Not with to be continued in the next book or in multiplayer. Both don't interest me the slightest bit. OP got mad skills...Mind blown  |

One thing that I haven't really seen mentioned is what happened with Dragon Age 2: Exalted March. They tied all the content related to the Exalted Marches that was important into Dragon Age: Inquisition itself. To me if there is another Mass Effect game and right now I still see it happening unless the game finished deep in the red and didn't cover production costs, those loose ends could be tied up in the next game even if they relocate and have a different protagonist.
I am not sure why people expect these loose ends to be all tied up anyway. BioWare games have always at least in my opinion had loose ends that might not be addressed until the next game.

I disagree, I don't think it was any more or less blatant then any other possible plot thread. It doesn't have any impact on the game itself it is basically two statements with the first being "Quarians have an ark" and the second being "Quarians are in Andromeda somewhere and stay away". That doesn't make it seem any more important then the mysterious race that created everything that has a significant impact on the Andromeda story. |

There is way too much to tell to fit in one book, and even if it is, Mass effect is not a linear game, its a game about choices, you can have two different protagonist with different personality, different romances, different sexual orientation, and different story choices etc. Its all depending on how you played and there is too many variables, a novel cannot take into account all of those different choices. Lucky for you there's more than 1 book then. Would be nice if they have an audiobook option. Most video game stories are good on their own terms because the player is the protagonist. Even if something is obviously cliche or hamfisted in the narrative the player is the one doing the shooting, saving the day, doing the the things that need done to move things along. That's a big difference from the passive experience of sitting back and watching a film or reading a novel. ME:A was a fun experience overall for me because I was the one taking Ryder and company around the galaxy and getting it done. If this was a tv show, film, novel, or comic, the laughably bad fanfic dialogue and narrative wouldn't get a second look from me and I bet even from many who liked the writing better than I did. |
