Squadmates gave Ryder little to no respect up front (nepotism concerns indeed were implied), ruined Ryder's meetings, and went behind Ryder's back to accomplish their own objectives. Would you say MEA moved the ball forward, or that it was mostly just an exercise in providing us more ME? Is that a bad thing, if so? Even the makers of the trailer didn't seem so sure. Perhaps what they really wanted was much, much more of the new and strange, less of the same, and a story that did a better job blowing everyone's minds.

I think he is referring to the way people reverently call Ryder 'Pathfinder' like "Thank goodness your here Pathfinder" or "The Pathfinder will straighten all of this out" despite the Pathfinder being an untested noob with no particular skill-set who's primary job function was already carried out by someone else a year before they even arrived in Andromeda. Shepard on the other hand earned his/her cred, they were a war hero and already famous.. that was before jumping a Mako through a relay, defeating a reaper, saving the Citadel then dying and coming back to life! I think you can forgive people for being a little starstruck
