All in all, It seems like they improved performance greatly with the latest patch (which is not saying much compared to how bad it was to begin with, but hey...). I'm talking MP here since I never went back to SP, but the game seems to perform a bit better, either that or the "magic trick" I did from Origin kinda worked. If anyone's interested, and this comes from the old BF4 days, simply turn off completely the "Origin in-game" feature, it's under settings. Back when, BF4 had this frame drops or lag spikes during rounds, it was annoying AF and got you killed all the time. Those were caused by frigging Origin and the in-game feature, solution was to turn the blasted thing off.

I have disabled every bit of that craptastic bit of Origin that I can and still allow the dumb thing to run... when it does. Yes... that is after EVERY. SINGLE. REBOOT.... Must uninstall and then reboot again and then reinstall Origin crap. I want a nuke button for that crap. Oh... wait... Origin's fate should be: media.giphy.com/media/12KiGLydHEdak8/giphy.gif

Tried this and now it hogs resources... Went back to what I have been forced to use (most up to date ORIGIN client) and not hogging resources... I should have never made this custom computer.

Sorry about that, not sure what to tell you. I'm using the legacy client and it's running a single instance that uses 149Mb RAM. You uninstalled the other version first?

As I said I went back to the other and working now. Just hate the Every...Time... I use Origin -then close -then 'try' to run Origin again.... I must do a reboot then begin the uninstall/reboot/install dance. Can get annoying after weeks of it. Again I think it all boils down to the fact that everything I have on this system is so customized that things just don't function the way they would otherwise: Win 10 Enterprise with over 100 modifications before the system even began to be used. If you have Windows 7 -keep it.

I have two systems, one with Windows 7 and one with Windows 8.1, and I can't even get the newer Origin to install on either of them, that's half the reason I'm running the legacy version.

Custom built machines? Or store bought machines? Nevertheless I guess we both will continue with weird issues.

Custom built shouldn't be a big deal. If anything, a home-built rig with off-the-shelf components and a standard Windows install would be closer to the mythical PC standard than whatever's coming from Dell or IBuyPower or whoever.
Of course, if it's not a standard Windows install..... OK, I gotta ask; what on earth were all those w10 modifications for?

Of course, if it's not a standard Windows install..... OK, I gotta ask; what on earth were all those w10 modifications for? To answer this let me ask you a question. What did Windows 10 come with that Windows 7 didn't? Well all those bells and whistles got disabled or deleted. IF and I say IF my motherboard supported it and I didn't need Windows 10 for work I would go back to Windows 7. Here are just 10 of the many, many, many changes: 1. Windows Defender -fully disabled. 2. Windows Update -disabled. 3. Windows Firewall -disabled (when not messing with origin ). 4. Windows Store -Deleted. 5. Cortana -DELETED. 6. Disabled the telemetry crap -all three: registry, policy editor and system file. 7. Microsoft Edge -Deleted 8. Microsoft Xbox store/plugin -Deleted. 9. Start Button reversion to Windows XP style. 10. Control Panel Restoration... PC Settings items stay. These are some of the more major ones. There are still a lot of others. Most are small though: like shortcuts to programs that Windows 10 makes you go through about 5-10 steps where it was 2-3 steps in Win 7. Or others that are registry or G.P.L.E. edits like increasing the number of files that can be opened past 15 or decreasing constriction on the network.

To answer this let me ask you a question. What did Windows 10 come with that Windows 7 didn't? Well all those bells and whistles got disabled or deleted. I honestly don't know much about that. I went straight from Vista to 10. I never change OSs until I need to. When my old XP rig blew up (protip: don't let your cat sleep next to the air intakes; cat fur can mess up your cooling good), I got a Dell c521 a friend was junking. With a 6670 it was still a decent gaming rig -- better than my blown rig which only had an x1650 Pro. Had to upgrade the OS for DAI, so I joined the W10 Insider Program. Won't run ME:A, but since it looks like the PCI-E slot's about to fail -- cards won't detect unless ambient temp is over 80F and it's humid -- it's upgrade time anyway. I don't see how any of this could blow up Origin. Unless it's piggybacking on the MS telemetry or something screwy like that.

However their are the main things that are not Registry, Shortcuts, G.P.L.E. and others. I do believe however that Windows Firewall it seems must be enable for Origin to install games successfully on my computer... Otherwise Origin will ALWAYS exit with error code 2 and or an endless Install button loop. Furthermore I have 5 hard drives that are connected and that makes it even more annoying -install to D: and my install goes to C or F... I went through a 20 step or so process just to get ME:A to install and be playable -took over a month after release date. The only thing that could have caused that would have been the customization's that I have done.

Interesting install problem. I've always installed to a different logical drive; my Windows OS is on a 32 gig partition, and so my Origin and Steam libraries have to be over on the main Vista partition. But of corse, I'm running stock everything.

But of corse, I'm running stock everything. I personally only like to have one partition per hard drive. Past experience has proven it true for me at least -that multi-partition drives keel over quicker due to the more constant data write and usage. Well that was another issue -since resolved. Had my system information on my F:\ Drive and boot information on C:\ Game would not install if could not get both on the same drive and only one drive set to be active. The confounding and confusing part was that both were somehow active and could not be set to inactive.
