So, should I get it and shoot at you guys? I don't know - I enjoyed the first BF and that futuristic one.
And what's with the premium stuff? Is that maps? Isn't there already enough fracture of MP gaming?
It sure looks like mildly fun, though. So who's gonna get it and why do you like or dislike it?

Nah probably not going to bother with it.
I recently got Battlefield 4 while it was on offer on PS4 and to be honest I was very disappointed by it. I was hoping it would be like Bad Company 2 but it looks like EA/Dice to a step back.
I havent seen anything that really impresses me with BF1 so I will probably give it a miss. Im thinking of getting Verdun instead, it looks pretty interesting

Never heard them telling not to buy it in fact they were trying to get more people into it - it used to be somewhat buggy though at that time.

If you are into BF games you might as well get it.
I am not a real fan of the series, though the thought of getting it for the hype crossed my head at one point, but then I saw the prices and they are simply nuts here in my country. I guess I will wait (maybe 2 years if needed be) and get it on a sale. I am not saying this to diminish the game at all, I am just not that much into BF games personally. Still, BF games are the best in their genre and Dice clearly puts a ton of work in their game.
Also, this year may be a watershed for competitive FPS games, as BF1 is set to trounce CoD's next installment.

I thought the BF1 beta was quite fun when I played as a sniper, but I'm on the fence because only enjoying one class does not bode well, and I thought SW Battlefront to be mediocre at best, so I'm not too impressed with Dice. I guess I'll wait for more reviews before deciding.

I wonder if they mix that up a bit.

I somehow felt that as an Infie, that was my role as opposed to killing things faster, and I just really loved zipping around picking pugs up and disabling objectives. Then I learned to shoot somewhat and bloodlust took over. I did try the other classes in the BF1 beta, but quickly got bored of being blown up by tanks. So yeah, really don't know. If reviews say the other classes are viable, I may give it a go.

As said above, IF you are into BF games, then get it. I think it wont disappoint. I've played quite a few, BF2, Vietnam, (some BC2 here and there, but I didn't bought the game, I played on a friends house), BF3, BF4, and definitely interested in this one. Although I may wait for quite a while until there's a drop in the price because games are getting fucking expensive in my country, just too much for my pocket... Not sure how it works in BF1 although I assume it's the same. Problem is the new "revive me or not" mechanic (which was bugged in the beta btw): people has to request a revive in order for the medic to be able to revive them, if not the medic can't do anything; however the medic has no way to know if someone requested the revive or not so it was always a case of "try just in case" .

Problem in the beta was that awful map. I mean the map was cool, but it was too vehicle heavy focused. And that motherefing train was a constant pain in the balls.

I think that the problem with the tanks / the train is BF1's progression system, which seems to be a bit more like Battlefront's than I would like. It takes a bit of class leveling until you get that anti-tank rifle - which does not do that much damage per shot, but lets you safely pew-pew armor to death from a distance instead of having to run up to it with a bundled grenade all suicidal like.

In the early beta I understood that player life has no meaning to the ticket bleed. Deaths / Respawns didn't reduce the team tickets. The only factor affecting ticket bleed is the number of points held by the team. Additionally, players can mash a button to "bleed out" faster to get to the respawn screen and choose a new entry point. I've heard many medics rushing to revive only found a corpse when they arived. Maybe they changed things up - a stat screen showed that medic was only played by 10% in the beta.

I imagine some of you have already seen the Single Player trailer released a few days ago. For those who haven't, I recommend checking it out. I personally think it looks amazing, and quite different from what I was expecting from a Battlefield-franchise trailer.

I personally think it looks amazing, and quite different from what I was expecting from a Battlefield-franchise trailer. It's a great trailer with great action sequences... but it gives me the feeling that we are going to play a WW2 game and story with a WW1 paint job. Even the campaign seems to start in 1917 - pretty darn late - so it can focus on English speaking allies and avoid the French. DICE seems to have clear preferences when it comes to their traget audience. Here is the start of the single player campaign - very mild spoilers, if any.

A tie between Civ 6 and BF 1, I decided to go with BF 1. The good part(s): - Yay? MP Operations allow medics to revive and negate ticket bleed for the attacking team. (Defenders have unlimited spawns.)
- Looks nice, good sounds, good voice overs, quite horrifying blood-curdling screams, all around good production quality.
- Very good animation jobs.
- Operations is best mode - well designed and very atmospheric
- Heap of weapons and gadgets to pick from to suit your playstyle. Even vehicle variants are unlockable.
- SP campaigns are OK - they're short but there's 5 of them. Can't be bothered about finding all the fucking Field Manuals tho. Don't expect the MP to play out the same, lol.
- Avanti Arditi! Alpine Map is best map and Italia attacks the wicked Austrian Empire! I wish they had done Austrian accents, though, Austria uses standard German.
- Every nation gets its set of VO for their soldiers. I don't understand Turkish, but there sure is a lot of "Orlukesirdilek topmenbürlük" going on and I believe it's authentic - the other languages are. Nice and immersive.
- Servers seem reasonably fast - having little lag issues so far.
- Conquest and Domination are OK modes.
- Haven't seen any microshopping stuff, yet.
The bad parts: - Crashfields - DX-Errors, Driver crashes, whathaveyounowagain - at times I can play like 2 rounds of MP and it crashes, sometimes I can go several hours. When it hangs after a match - Origin usually gives up, too. Sometimes even crashes when I just want to quit to main menu from lobby. I suspect it's hogging a lot of resources.
- Fucking Origin now launches another fucking process - some fucking QTbrowserthing.
- Fuck Rush, Fuck some of these maps
- Fuck sniper rifles - you're fucking fodder to them
- First few hours in MP were not really enjoyable - a common thing in FPS MP for me, though.
- Some really weird UI design: Cannot quit MM? Cannot customize and unlock gear/weapons outside a match? Why the fuck would we sit 5 mins in a match figuring out our new loadouts? Why even allow to fiddle with loadouts during a match? Have people do it before, so they can play the objective for fucksake and not go AFK in their loadout screens. Mindboggling it doesn't tell you what to do either to unlock stuff.
- Hellriegel? For real? What the...? Can I have a LMG like this?
- No microshopping means DLC? That's confirmed - but why partition the playerbase over this?

BF1 is clearly a solid game in many ways especially when it comes to the Multiplayer modes, where the BF franchise really shines.
However, this time around I got hyped with the trailers and I was expecting the campaign to be pretty interesting, immersive and all that. But then I watched this...
On the one hand, I want to say that I think this looks amazing. But on the other, it seems to be as historically accurate regarding WW1 as the upcoming Wonder Woman film.

I watched the story. I think the campaigns are quite well done, with the obvious FPS-ness to them, but not enough to be an insult to the memory of those who fought. All seemed rather... Possible.
Which, if you ever heard me say it, is why I liked Medal of Honor campaigns so much. They never felt too Hollywoody with hordes of enemies. No, instead you got two, three, sometimes as many as ten at a time in the big firefights. Combined with the atmosphere and relatively slow pace of it, it felt very...believable.

There is actually a companion app and a companion website that let you configure your loadout outside the game, but last time I tried them - on launch day - they didn't work and actually reset your loadout to the starter default. The missing quit button is really weird - there is a quit button while the match scores are displayed, but it disappears just when the last guy to receive a battlepack drop is revealed. Really, really weird.

Really, really weird. I heard that, but I can't be arsed to bother about any app stuff. Instead I go empty servers and set up my stuff without any pressure. The quit thing is really inconsistent - it seems they go with dragging the whole lot simply to the next map for these dominations or whatnotmodes. Same in operations (here it actually makes sense) but it drops you to the main menu once the operation outcome is determined. I've usually picked 60 player operations - only yesterday I tried 40 people servers. It was kinda better - the 20 attackers still have 150 tickets - they just don't burn through them as quickly as in a 60 player match. And I tried it in the Argonne forest which I hated with 60 guys. I've usually struggled on the Ballroom Blitz, but this time I got hold of a heavy tank and felt sorry for the enemy guys.

^ Love game glitches. I played BF1 beta, unlikely to buy it though I like it well enough. Most notable exploits; roadkill, poor guy never saw me coming but I saw him and stepped on the pedal, and hitching my tank onto the enemy tank for a ride.

Speaking of exceptional battle prowess, me and a friend took the Gotha G.IV for a ride during the Beta. Turns out if you got a good pair, the 20mm Type M2 autocannon from Becker Stahlwerke works splendidly againist infantry and light vehicles alike. It was not unlike us to strike down three, four foes per pass, and light vehicles usually remained crewless after our pass...
