I'm not sure... and I'm not trying to be a Debbie Downer... but the Roekaar and other Angara models were already in everyone's base game. The assets were there, MP just makes them behave differently or dresses them up differently (with assets already there).

Batarians are brand-spanking new assets period, so a patch is needed. Remember that MP isn't held solely on servers... the servers are just for match-making and tracking stats/unlocks... the bulk of MP is peer-to-peer, so the game is using what's downloaded on people's machines. It's why lag can be so severe sometimes if it's over great distance or the host has potato Internet... because your game is being fed/dictated by the host's machine. To have the Batarians, which haven't been in the game before, everyone needs to download the patch.

The new maps they've been sneaking in to rotation for APEX missions likely came during previous patches as well, for the same reasons.

Debbie's and their downers...could at least provide a vodka back to wash 'em down.

Well, we could take apart the download files, I suppose. Or ask Pedroelm. He would most likely have an answer. I believe FB Aqua and the daytime variant of Icebreaker were added with 1.08, but I didn't see any character kits added at the time.

To show damn respect to BioWare. Because there are plenty of angry, hate-train followers, who have filled the internet with their negativity and dismoraling opinions. BioWare are human, just like us, creative people, who put their efforts and very souls into the game, and they can get hurt. Thus we need to stand up for the game to Bioware.
You may say, that it is always for EA to decide, whether there will or not be a DLC or just successive development. But there are still in-company Meetings, there is still a communication between EA and BW with negotiations and such. Our support may be what stands between them, willing to continue to develop the game(to fight for it) and just following EA orders. You can always see the difference between the product, that was made by the people, who love and care for their job and those, who just do, what is needed to be done(what they are told to).

People are just feeling frustrated with the situation and wants to do something about it, even if futile.

If taking a pessimist viewpoint, and also arguably a realist one, hardcore fans campaigning on the internet wont change much. Those people that are engaged enough to do that would always be buying any story DLC regardless, and EA knows it.
